I'm grateful to have received the endorsement of the Detroit News. At the same time, I want to offer a few clarifications, as the accompanying article contains some factual inaccuracies.
I also want to clarify that this district is not comprised of "Sterling Heights, Warren, and Detroit's east side." Michigan's new Senate District 10 includes all of Berkley, Center Line, Clawson, Ferndale, Hazel Park, Huntington Woods, Madison Heights, Oak Park, Pleasant Ridge,
I’m proud to announce the endorsement of Dennis Whittie, Ferndale attorney, FernCare board vice president, and someone who knows exactly what it means to show up for your community when it matters most.
As vice president of FernCare’s board, he’s fought to make sure healthcare isn’t a privilege reserved for those who can afford it.
The communities of Senate District 10 need leaders who show up, not just when it’s easy or safe, but especially when it isn’t.
I'm proud to have earned the endorsement of the Michigan Education Association.
I spent years in classrooms before I ever ran for office. That shaped how I think about what public education actually requires, and what it costs when the state doesn't take it seriously.
MEA members show up every day for students in ways that go far beyond what the job description says. They deserve a senator who will fight just as hard for them. Fully funded schools. Facilities that don't force some kids to learn in crumbling buildings while others don't.
Happy Juneteenth. This year, as we mark the emancipation of Black Americans from enslavement, we are also living through a pivotal moment in our nation's history.
Juneteenth carries a lesson that is as urgent now as ever: progress does not spread evenly, and none of us are free until all of us are free. Generations before us gave everything to put a multiracial democracy within reach.
Session days mean I’m working in Lansing, but thanks to my campaign fellows and these incredible @MichiganLCV volunteers, our campaign is still going strong back home.
Receiving this year's Honors Legislator Award from NAMI Michigan is a humbling reminder of why this work matters. NAMI is a genuine grassroots force, present in every state, rooted in more than 1,000 local communities. (1/5)
Their voices are what drive efforts to close gaps in behavioral health services and reduce the strain on emergency departments that have become a default safety net for people in crisis. (4/5)
