I am blessed & honored to announce that I am now the sole candidate for Louisiana House District 99.
I want to thank my opponent for offering himself for service. Thank you to the people of our district for entrusting me with 4 more years of service to our community!

A big thank you to @manniefresh for supporting Democrats at our True Blue Rally Friday!
🧵 It is with pleasure I announce @IWONewOrleans has endorsed my campaign for re-election.
I’ve been a fierce advocate for women and children in House District 99!

It has been my absolute pleasure to serve the people of District 99 and work with the members of @opdecla.
I'm hopeful for your continued support as I seek re-election this fall & look forward to four more years of working for the people of District 99 & the city of New Orleans.
🧵On Memorial Day, I want to express sincere gratitude to all who lost their lives in defense of our country and the families who deeply miss them. While I did not lose anyone in combat I honor the service of my military veteran family today and every day.
🧵Cannabis celebrations are taking place across the country today for 4/20.
It's time for Louisiana to catch up to the many states across our nation benefiting in numerous ways from the legalization and regulation of marijuana.

Thank you to everyone who came out to my town hall for District 99 at Carver High School. I have prided myself on bringing information to the people of my district. We brought together @LAStatePolice Lamar A. Davis, @SheriffHutson, @NOPDNews Cpt. Terry St. Germain, Beau Black...
...Justin Guilbeau, Scott Boyle from the @La_DOTD, Director of City Works Sara Porteous, Director of Public Affairs at @EntergyNOLA Nyka Scott, @SWBNewOrleans Community Outreach Specialist Ceara Labat, Trey Caruso from the @mayorcantrell's Office & more.
When we come together to have meaningful conversations about the problems, we can enact change in Louisiana to better it for ALL.

"We know it's going to happen some day," Newell told @USATODAY. "Why not now when we can regulate it for safety & maximize the economic opportunities for people who grow & sell it & generate taxes for revenue to fund critical programs & services?" #lalege

This year, I'm grateful for all of you who have given your time and resources to helping our community.

I want to congratulate our newly elected officials for Louisiana, @RoyceDuplessis, @donmamglapion, & @electkherman, who I was glad to support! All races were hard fought and wins were well deserved.
I'm so excited to see what they have in store!

🧵As some of you know, my colleagues in the @LAblackcaucus asked me to offer myself in this election. SD 5 was carved out to be a majority Black seat, and give minorities a seat at the table in Baton Rouge.
With this in mind, I’m honored to announce their endorsement. (1/4) – at New Orleans, LA
