Heart rate, perspiration, and other studies show that narcissists/ psychopaths do not experience fear. In fact, they anticipate moments that would create fear in others with exhilaration. Imagine the significance of this in people driven by power and control!

Elizabeth Holmes has the classic left right facial hemisphere asymmetry of the predator (eg narcissist). It’s the basis of the smirk. Cover one side of her face and there’s a smile. Cover the other side and it’s a ‘dead’ face.

The “1% of the population” was created by Bob Hare who created the tool (the PCL-R) used most commonly around the world to diagnose psychopaths. It does not contain the attributes of control or sadism and focuses on those who engage in violent physical crime. Read into that what you will.

Are there 2 subspecies of human beings? Dark personalities (so-called narcissists, psychopaths) have brain anomalies of the pre-frontal cortex & amygdala. They are completely different to others & account for at least 10% of the population. They’re motivated by control, sadism, exploitation. They’re not motivated by love, relationships or affinity, although they will enter marriages & appear to have excellent friendships to maintain a facade of ‘normal’. Some are incredibly bewitching and are able to make everybody feel special. Dark personalities are highly driven to cover their true motivations which are often unlawful, unethical, harmful and/or hurtful to others & predatory. Brain anomalies mean they do not feel emotions such as empathy or compassion or shame so they must act human emotions & responses. Some do it better than others. One tell-tale sign is when they cry. Often there are no tears or they might scrunch their face up to make it look like they’re crying. This absence of shame and empathy means dark personalities have no problem with behaving in ways that many of us would never dream of, although it is usually covert and only some see this side of them. Anyone who has been targeted by a dark personality/predator will attest to how destructive, depleting, debilitating, toxic, and soul destroying the experience is, to the extent many who have been targeted commit suicide or adopt other strategies to cope with the relentless torture and heartache. Millions of years ago Australopithecus Africanus and Australopithecus Robustus roamed the Earth at the same time. While they had different features, they each had similar features to current Homosapiens. Our understanding of prehistory is still patchy but it seems only one of these species contributed to current homo sapiens, Australopithecus Africanus, while Australopithecus Robustus may have died out. I wonder if the future of humanity is destined for the same fate?
