We used @RetroReport’s “How to Respectfully Disagree” to set expectations. One student asked a classmate to explain their reasoning rather than react. A moment that showed civic skills in action! #CivicEducation

Great morning talking about the complexity of the American Revolution. Did you know that @RetroReport has a video for that?!?!? “When is history happening” led to a lot of great questions & discussion in my 7th grade ELA class as we prepare for our revolution debate.

This a great lesson and video. If you use it in your classes would love to know how it goes!
Did you know that Eleanor Roosevelt warned Bess Truman that the White House had a rat problem? 🐀
When Harry and Bess Truman moved into the White House, the building was deteriorating and was later deemed uninhabitable. A tear-down was considered, but First Lady Bess Truman advocated for restoration instead, helping to preserve the historic building.

For constitution day, my 8th graders read about two student free speech Supreme Court cases, then watched a video on them, then compared the 1969 and 2021 verdicts. Thanks for this amazing lesson plan @RetroReport! @KEDC1 @passport2lead

Will you be in New York for Climate Week 2026? Join us on 9/22 to hear from our own Ginny Marcille-Kerslake and the rest of this amazing panel about local fights against AI data centers and other extractive industries!
As AI use expands across the U.S., data centers are arriving in communities that have already lived through the rise and fall of steel factories, coal plants, and fracking infrastructure. Residents are organizing to demand a say in how these facilities operate and change the places where they live.
Join the @pulitzercenter during #ClimateWeekNYC for a conversation moderated by Kit Roane, senior producer at Retro Report, with Maia Woluchem, program director of @datasociety Research Institute's Trustworthy Infrastructure program; Alejandra Martinez, environmental reporter at @TexasTribune and Pulitzer Center grantee; Brian Crawford, a Texas resident working with Protect the Paluxy Valley Inc; and Virginia (Ginny) Marcille-Kerslake, a Pennsylvania resident and senior organizer at @foodandwater.
The event marks the launch of Data & Society’s forthcoming report, “The AI Factory: Data Centers, Power and Resistance in Late Industrial Pennsylvania,” based on 18 months of field research in Pennsylvania, alongside Pulitzer Center-supported reporting on data center development by The Texas Tribune.
This event is a collaboration between the Pulitzer Center, Retro Report, and Data & Society.
