The reality is, it was personal for Calvin and Servetus. Calvin said if Servetus came to Geneva, that he would do all he could to make sure Servetus wouldn’t leave alive. Calvin proved true to his word. Servetus, burned in effigy by the Catholics and literally burned to death by the Protestants. Calvin was not just a man of his time, he was a “theocrat” imagining that he was doing the will of God. “Indeed, the hour is coming when whoever kills you will think that he offers a service to God.” - John 16:2

Calvin describes the capture of Servetus to his friend Farel “He intended perhaps passing through this city; But after he had been recognised, I thought that he should be detained. My friend Nicolas summoned him on a capital charge, offering himself as security…”

Basic Biblical fact: according to Stephen in Acts, God speaks through the angel in the burning bush. The angel is not God.

Basic Biblical fact: no one in Acts claims Jesus is God, but instead distinguishes him from God again and again.

What do you know about the two powers heresy? We’re beginning a new series on the Jewish condemnation of the idea that there are two powers in heaven. This subject is fraught with confusion and difficulty, and my goal is to clear up the confusion. restitutio.org/?p=10468

Any Trinitarian who says the Fourth Gospel's prologue is 'clear' and sufficient to base a major Christological theory on: can I have some of what you're smokin', mon? The prologue should be used only to buttress any major arguments, not as a primary line of evidence - due to its condensed, poetic style. But here we are.

Had he lived long enough, the author would have been disturbed that three competing interpretations of Jn 1:1 arose before the year 200. Then a 4th, trinitarian one then the 4th century! trinities.org/blog/podcast-2…

The Trinity is a man-made idol. Referring to idols that have eyes but cannot see + ears but cannot hear, Psalm 115:8 states, "Those who make them become like them, as do all who trust in them," "They followed vanity and became vain." "They went after emptiness and became empty."

Rather than teaching the immortality of the soul that separates from the body at death, the biblical authors taught that the dead are asleep in the grave, awaiting resurrection on the last day. Learn more about the theology of the early Christians in my newest book: amzn.to/47jldOc
