At the University of Sydney, a staffer aggressively harassed Jewish students celebrating Sukkot with disgusting Jew-hatred.
On campus. In public. On video.
She wasn’t fired.
She wasn’t arrested.
She kept her job.
Then came the Bondi Chanukah massacre.
Only after Jews were murdered did the system suddenly care.
Now, months later, she’s finally been:

Australian actor Nick Slater @nick.slater has spoken out about the backlash he faced after posting a simple message of support for Bondi’s Jewish community following Sunday’s horrific terror attack. He says he lost followers and received waves of messages filled with “what about this” and “what about that,” the familiar whataboutisms used to deflect from Jewish suffering and excuse hatred.
Nick points out something many Jews have been saying for years: antisemitism in Australia and around the world has been allowed to grow unchecked on social media, amplified by algorithms that reward outrage while silencing empathy. Even expressions of love and solidarity with the Jewish community are attacked, questioned, or pushed aside.
Standing with Jews should not be controversial, nor require disclaimers. We thank Nick for refusing to back down and for using his voice when it matters most.
