As of 12pm on Sunday 25th October, 11 regional Flood Alerts remain in place but there are now 17 local Flood Warnings as Scotland is now starting to see the full effects of #StormBoelo. The stormy weather will continue to bring surface water, river and coastal flooding to many parts of Scotland. Through Sunday, coastal flooding impacts are likely in the west and north. There could also be river and surface water impacts in the north due to continued heavy rain. This weather will continue into the start of the week so for up to date information, please check our flooding page: beta.sepa.scot/flooding/ and always check before you travel. We continue to urge people to be extra careful, particularly around coastal areas and stay away from flooded promenades and crashing waves.

From Friday, a period of extended wet and windy weather will bring disruption to large parts of Scotland across the weekend as two named storms, Storm Austen and Storm Boelo, sweep their way across the UK. On Friday, possible flooding impacts are expected with particular concern around Fife, Edinburgh, the Lothians and the Scottish Borders. On Saturday, the concern extends around Western and coastal areas. Impacts could include the flooding of roads, properties and disruption to transport and infrastructure. The Met Office have issued yellow weather alerts for rain and wind over the weekend which affect the Stirling Council area as both Storm Austen and Storm Boelo will impact the country. A yellow weather warning is in effect for rain from 6am until 11.59pm tomorrow (23 October) and a yellow warning for wind is in effect from 6pm on Saturday (24 October) until 9pm on Sunday (25 October). A flood alert for the Central region has been issued by Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) as heavy rainfall may cause some disruption to roads and localised flooding. Our teams will be monitoring conditions for any disruption caused by the weather.
