En 1999, en #Bucarest, tuve la oportunidad de ver al Papa Juan Pablo II, durante la primera visita de un Papa a un país de mayoría ortodoxa desde el Gran Cisma. Me siento privilegiado de haber sido testigo de estos dos momentos históricos, separados por 27 años.
La #Montevideo, l-am ascultat pe Papa Leon al XIV-lea, @Pontifex , vorbind despre ceea ce ne unește, dincolo de credințe și de felul în care vedem lumea. Un mesaj despre toleranță, respect și îngăduință.
În 1999, la #București, l-am văzut pe Papa Ioan Paul al II-lea, în prima vizită a unui Papă într-o țară majoritar ortodoxă după Marea Schismă.
Mă simt privilegiat că am fost martor la aceste două momente istorice, la 27 de ani distanță.

Excellent meeting with my Albanian counterpart @HoxhaFer . We share the goal of seeing Casa Iorga in Saranda return to Romanian ownership, so that it can swiftly be a symbol of our friendship once again. We agreed on the next steps to this aim.
We also discussed bringing our business communities closer to boost trade.

The rotating Presidency of the Central European Initiative is set to pass from Romania to Ukraine, at the Ministerial Meeting in Bucharest tomorrow. In this context, I had bilateral talks today with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine @AndriiSybiha.
We addressed the main issues on our common agenda: security in the Black Sea region, the rights of the Romanian community in Ukraine and Ukraine’s accession process to the European Union.
I reaffirmed Romania’s firm support for Ukraine’s sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, as well as our shared commitment to a just and lasting peace. 🇷🇴🤝🇺🇦

🇺🇦🇷🇴 Today in Bucharest, I held meaningful talks with Romania's Foreign Minister @DanNeculaescu, reaffirming the strength of the Ukrainian-Romanian strategic partnership.
I briefed my Romanian colleague on the battlefield situation, Russia's relentless terror against our people, and peace efforts.
We discussed increasing pressure on the aggressor, strengthening Ukraine's defense and resilience, and unblocking freedom of navigation in the Black Sea.
We share an interest in practical projects to strengthen energy security, improve border connectivity, and build up transport and transit capacity.
We also spoke about ensuring the rights of persons belonging to our national minorities in line with high European standards. We agreed to convene the relevant intergovernmental commission as soon as possible.
I underscored the importance of opening the two remaining EU negotiation clusters for Ukraine by the end of the year, and thanked Romania for supporting our EU accession.
I am grateful to Romania for its steadfast support for Ukraine's independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
