on the up to speed podcast, will buxton pointed out that one of kimi's season highlights was his tyre management, and i couldn't agree more! "one of the things that impressed me the most about his season was how he managed his tyres and maintained his pace throughout a stint. he was just as fast, if not faster, in the second half of a stint, when everyone else's tyres were tailing off. he still had that pace, and that's what allowed something like monza to happen, for example. he was so good at maintaining that pace, that life in the tyres, and pulling through." "and we talk about his driving style, and we talk about that incredible ability to brake very very late, get the car on its nose, late turning, late rotation, and control the rear. like aggressive that doesn't look aggressive in terms of his driving style, but to be able to temper that style with tyre and strategic management, i thought was so deeply impressive."
