Nutcrackers are hot topic this autumn. I have seen several thousand Nutcrackers on migration over the years in Estonia but never seen them heading to the open sea in strong headwind at the height of my knees. Sõrve B.O., Saaremaa island today.

All at Stoke City are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of our '72 League Cup winning captain Peter Dobing at the age of 87. Dobing ranks ninth in the club's all-time scoring charts with 95 goals in 377 appearances. The thoughts and sincere condolences of all are with Peter's friends and family at this immensely difficult time.

8 Short-eared Owl came in-off the sea at Trow this morning between 8 and 1. There was very little in the Quarry itself, so I decided to watch the sea and a Black-throated Diver going north was the only other thing of note.

Rescued from unimaginable cruelty in Lebanon, this #kestrel had her eyes sewn shut by a falcon trapper to serve as a live decoy for >6 weeks. Thanks to our anti-poaching team and vet care, she’s healed and back in the open sky where she belongs!
