Veteran WR Brandon Aiyuk owes the 49ers roughly $13 million in bonus forfeiture — a potential complication in his efforts to secure his release by reporting to the facility Friday.
The NFL Management Council and the NFL Players Association are both involved in attempting to resolve the situation. The sides could reach an agreement to pay back the money, or it could go to arbitration. But it’s complicated and may take time to resolve.

Brandon Aiyuk’s agent Drew Rosenhaus repeated that his client will report back to the 49ers on Friday afternoon. “We will be there tomorrow at 3pm to meet with the team at the facility,” Rosenhaus texted. “We will put our best foot forward and go from there.”

GM John Lynch on KNBR: It's likely Mike Evans and Deebo Samuel will not be available Sunday against the Raiders.
But the 49ers are getting back Demarcus Robinson and KhaDarel Hodge -- two players who were among the six active wide receivers for Week 1.

49ers John Lynch (to KNBR) on Brandon Aiyuk:
"We’re working with NFL management council to navigate through a different situation. It’s fluid. I’m going to leave it at that. We working so there’s a pathway for both sides that work. Next week we can talk more in detail about it"

GM John Lynch on KNBR: "We’d have to be really motivated to move Mac (Jones), a situation where it makes too much sense. ... But we’re very comfortable with keeping Mac."

Trade: the Arizona Cardinals are finalizing a trade to send QB Jacoby Brissett to the Baltimore Ravens, per @RapSheet and me. Deal is expected to be completed until this weekend.
The Ravens lost QB Lamar Jackson to a thumb injury, and his backup Tyler “Snoop” Huntley to turf toe.

Once Brandon Aiyuk officially reports back to the 49ers, the organization’s options are to keep him under his current contract, release him or potentially find a trade partner before Tuesday’s deadline.
Wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk has turned in paperwork to be reinstated, per his agent Drew Rosenhaus. Aiyuk, who currently is on San Francisco’s Reserve/Left Squad list, will be reporting to the 49ers’ training facility Friday afternoon, per Drew Rosenhaus. “Brandon is healthy and ready to get back on the field,” Rosenhaus said.

One notable sight from the 49ers' open locker room today: De'Zhaun Stribling walking around without crutches or any sort of brace/support on his lower leg.
