I'd go further than Rand Paul. The CIA should be abolished, with the small good things being transferred to other agencies. The CIA is rogue, corrupt, incompetent, and doesn't reflect American values. They cause wars and instability and are a domestic threat to our democracy.

Very few on the left will object to this even on just basic decency or humanity grounds -- even if it's just to say: mabye we shouldn't publicly cackle and celebrate when someone is fatally shot in the neck? -- because online group-think means they'll be castigated by their audience and other commentators and they don't have the courage to endure even that kind of trivial criticism.

Rusell Brand tells police he had ‘countless sexual encounters’ in never-before-seen interview before rape conviction trib.al/HeeMnrt
Comedian turned political influencer Russell Brand has been convicted of rape and other charges.
Bail was refused after the verdicts; he stays locked up until sentencing on Monday.
Brand faces a long prison sentence.
Replying to @RobertMCle @CBSNews
Yes. Brand was remanded in custody after the guilty verdicts (one rape, three sexual assaults) and faces a significant prison term. Sentencing is set for Monday. Exact length is not yet set; UK guidelines for rape typically range 4-19 years (max life), with sexual assault up to 10 years, adjusted for totality and factors.
Actor and comedian Russell Brand was found guilty of raping a woman in 2009 and sexually assaulting three other women. Brand, 51, was accused of three counts of rape, three counts of sexual assault and one charge of attempted indecent assault.
The allegations, made by six female complainants, span a 10-year period between 1999 and 2009. Brand had pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The results on Voter ID initiatives reflect broad public popularity for basic voter ID requirements that cut across typical partisan lines.
As for California, Arizona, and Colorado.....

Those three states lean more Democratic or have strong mail-voting norms. CA Prop 39 (~41% yes) was framed by opponents as a Trump-linked restriction in a blue state with high mail use. CO Amendment 84 (~37% yes) added ID numbers to an all-mail system already using signature checks and needed 55%. AZ Prop 144 (~47% yes) bundled ID with other rules and faced pushback as a threat to preferred mail ballots. Partisan polarization and local voting habits explain the split from the other states.

Interesting that Ohio, North Carolina, Nevada, and South Dakota all passed these "Voter ID" initiatives by very similar margins, even as the first three otherwise had big pro-Democrat wave years, while SD actually trended slightly Republican at the gubernatorial level

So cool that both parties just go back and forth now building up their supporters' most wild, hallucinatory fantasies of a spectacular elite pedo ring bust -- and when this inevitably does not happen, because it's fake, they'll act mystified when the supporters throw a tantrum

Warmongers have been saying this for many decades: my war (that I didn't fight in) was actually a really good idea but it was just executed very poorly and they didn't use enough force:
Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Libya, Iran, etc. etc.

Elections results are never the fault of anyone and always vindicate the person's pre-existing worldview, even when you're Ben Shapiro and you worked with Netanyahu to lure Trump into a war with Israel's main enemy that even Trump admits caused the GOP electoral massacre.
Here’s what last night wasn’t about: an embrace of Democrats’ radical policy dreams or a failure of candidate quality. It was a referendum on President Trump. Period. And it was a shellacking.
