Amy Acton letting Vivek Ramaswamy go to voicemail is a lesson for women. You don’t owe people who mistreat you reconciliations, forgiveness or platitudes. You certainly don’t owe people who enable your abuser anything. You owe yourself peace. 🥺

🇺🇸 Today, I had the privilege and the joy of accompanying #BobDylan to meet Pope Leo, together with Andrea Monda. It was hard not to feel the emotion of being part of an encounter that had a real sense of history about it, with the feeling that, at every step through the Apostolic Palace, absolutely anything could happen! Carlo Feltrinelli and Susan Pullman were also with us. On July 31, Pope Leo had met with Patti Smith. I’m writing about it in L’Osservatore Romano.

They ask him about impeachment. He says it would "destroy the Democratic Party", then walks away saying "watch the beam go up", then comes back and says "envision the chandeliers". "Did you guys see the helipad - how beautiful?" Wow. Just wow.

1PM and Trump (aka Stalin's last days) has called the press together near the hole he wants to transform into a ballroom. This ought to be good.

“🇺🇸 people don't want us to get even, they want us to get things done…” Who’s gonna tell @RepJeffries holding crooks accountable isn’t about “getting even”, it’s about preserving our democracy? Is this what he talked about with Kushner? @TheDemocrats don’t blow this

Born on October 22, 1811, Hungarian composer Franz Liszt would have turned 215 two weeks ago. To mark the occasion, Georgian-French pianist Khatia Buniatishvili plays Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 at the Verbier Festival in Switzerland. Happy belated birthday, maestro! 🙏🏼🌍🕊️

Tonight, the American people sent a clear message — they want a politics that brings people together rather than divides them, and leaders who offer concrete solutions to the challenges they face. These results were only possible because outstanding candidates stepped forward in every region of the country — including in areas once considered long shots. They came from different backgrounds and represented a range of political perspectives, but were united by shared values, a belief in public service, and a commitment to putting the people of their districts and states first. We also owe a debt of gratitude to the thousands of election officials and volunteers from both parties who helped ensure a smooth election and carried out one of the most essential functions of our democracy. While this administration has another two years in office, our job now is to roll up our sleeves, make changes wherever we have the power to do so, prevent further damage, and lay the groundwork for the future.

Maybe selling pardons to the filthy rich so they wouldn’t have to pay crime victims restitution for the millions they stole wasn’t the best plan.
