An investigation by @propublica The Texas Tribune found more than 60 instances of nepotism, self-dealing and conflicts of interest among 27 private schools that likely would have violated state laws had the schools been public. bit.ly/45sHebf

We learned the Trump admin is moving to slash regs on launch companies — like Elon Musk’s SpaceX — that aim to protect people and the enviro. The changes come despite explosions that sent debris raining on the Caribbean and Gulf. propublica.org/article/trump… w/ @ReporterTopher

A special session starts today in TX to address, in part, flood prevention in the wake of deadly July 4 flooding. But our latest from @propublica & the @TexasTribune shows how lawmakers have repeatedly failed to take meaningful flood control measures propublica.org/article/texas…

We asked people who experienced "sweeps" of homeless encampments to write about it in their own words. In the Phoenix area, 59-year-old Mary gets emotional when she thinks about the loss of blue baby shoes that her son and daughter wore: propub.li/3OcM4kG

ProPublica just obtained a remarkable directive to those remaining at USAID: Empty the safes with the classified and personnel records and then ... "Shred as many documents first, and reserve the burn bags for when the shredder becomes unavailable or needs a break."

DOGE “seemed unsure” of what USAID programs they cut and is now attempting to reverse some of the cuts, says @ProPublica reporter @BrettMmurphy. “This is the opposite of a careful review."

Over the last three years, the head of a small charter school network that serves fewer than 1,000 students has taken home up to $870,000 annually, a startling amount that appears to be the highest for any public school superintendent in the state. bit.ly/3DwxnXX

According to a new ProPublica investigation, Texas has seen an increase in the rate of sepsis among women who lost their pregnancies in the second trimester since the state instituted one of the country’s strictest abortion bans and the Supreme Court overturned the constitutional right to an abortion. The investigation found that the rate of sepsis jumped by more than 50 percent in the two years since Texas’ near-total abortion ban went into effect. @TheStephSy spoke with @lizziepresser for more.

Incredible reporting here from @CoreyGJohnson, who exposes the hypocrisy inherent in some opposition to authorities compiling data to police bad actors while some in the gun industry use it for their own ends.
New: Documents obtained by ProPublica detail the sophistication and intrusiveness of Cambridge's work for the gun industry in 2016. The firm's campaign aimed to help elect Donald Trump and keep industry-friendly politicians in the Senate. propub.li/3Xgd8Vm
