FINAL: Nebraska 88, Kansas State 84
Unlike the first two exhibitions, NU played to win this one. It took all 40 minutes, but the 2026-27 Huskers get their first (unofficial) victory together.
Now, the rest of the games count.
Frager hits two FTs to make it 86-82 with 9.2 left. He's got 28 points and 10 boards.
Nebraska again offers no resistance on defense and KSU scores.
Lanier seals it with two FTs with 3.1. Unnecessarily stressful, but still a W.
Kansas State's press is giving Nebraska's fits to close this game.
After Jacobsen missed two FTs, DeGourville makes two to put NU up 84-80 with 18.4 left.
Kansas State used an 8-0 run to cut a 13-point Nebraska lead to five.
Frager answers with a layup and Sandfort converts an And-1 on consecutive possessions. They've combined for 47 points.
Huskers lead 80-72 with 1:45 left.
Damon Wilkinson scores on a nice dish from Frager, then pokes out a steal in the paint and hits a spinner on the other end.
He's got 12 points on 5-7 shooting in just 18 minutes off the bench.
Nebraska's shooting has been rough all night. Huskers haven't made a FG in 3:08 and are now 37.3% from the field for the game.
Still, NU leads 68-62 with 5:57 left.
Of Nebraska's 56 shots, 38 have been 3-pointers. They've made 12 (31.6%).
Huskers lead 67-59 with 8:24 to play.
Nebraska leads 58-54 with 11:45 remaining.
Huskers are just 3-14 (21.4%) from the field in the second half, but are also 7-7 on FTs.
Sandfort's night is likely done. He finished with 20 points in 25 minutes of work.
Taj DeGourville has looked good tonight. Four points and five boards over 12 minutes, and his athleticism jumps out.
