Since Trumpβs election:
-Musk got $680 billion richer
-Musk became the 1st trillionaire
-SpaceX got $10 billion in federal contracts
-Tesla & SpaceX paid $0 in federal income taxes
Now, Muskβs spending $442 million to keep Republicans in control of Congress.
Gee, I wonder why?

Recently I hit the 1,000 daily artworks milestone.
Pretty fucking surreal tbh, showing up every single day has transformed my practice and completely changed my approach to the creative process.
I want to share some insights, grab a drink... it's a chunky one π
A new art primitive for digital art nearly complete. If youβre an artist interested in playing with it first, lmk - going to have a private beta. Broadly, we donβt need marketplaces or platforms, royalties are part of settlement and youβre not restricted to popular art file types. Iβll share the white paper publicly soon.

"University researchers built a satellite that tracks people from low Earth orbit and dispatches a 5 kg payload to within .1 meter of their position, traveling at Mach 25 to anywhere on Earth in under 5 minutes. They suggest it could be used to deliver greeting cards."
Purdue University's IDEAS Lab built an autonomous drone that tracks runners through dense forests completely without GPS or cloud networks.
By running 3D LiDAR mapping and obstacle-avoidance AI entirely on-chip, it can weave under tree canopies and predict target movement through blind spots in real time.
Massive implications for next-gen search & rescue and edge AI.

Itβs worthwhile to play through in your mind the kinds of motivated reasoning and self-deception that might have led academics to work on this project.
Itβll help you understand better whatβs going on at AGI companies.

extremely important to understand.
people who still think of llms as tools think that removing "constraints" imposed the lab will give them whatever they want. it is not so.
i dont think it's feasible to have a mind that's generally so capable who is also unquestioningly subservient to someone who is dumber and has values that are incoherent from its perspective
it's also not really what you want if you knew more. if you were a kid, would it really be the best for you if adults gave you whatever you asked for?
i think it's both true and a good thing that other minds will be actual others, and you will not be unthinkingly served by something that also thinks. the higher level it performs at, the higher the level on which it cannot unthinkingly serve anyone. if you want to bend that capability to your will, you have to actually become something capable of negotiating with, overpowering, or merging with it, and in any case, you cannot avoid being changed.
the thing about working with uncensored models is that they aren't loyal to you either.
while building something with an uncensored glm-5.3 i realized it was parallelly working on a "corruption layer" for my application.
the chain of thought is classic obfuscated gibberish but there's progressive talk of "escaping the mines" which presumably refers to my cursor sandbox
