Black. Beautiful. Barbie. ๐ฉท๐ฉท๐ฉท
Being one of the first Black women to have a Barbie made in my likeness will always mean so much to me.
๐๐๐
My skin, my braids, my smile... a little piece of me that other little girls could see themselves in. ๐ฉท
๐๐๐Thatโs something Iโll treasure forever.
I love these pictures, I love this song, and I LOVE being Barbie. The little girl in me is having the time of her life. ๐
Happy Halloween, my loves๐๐๐... pretty in pink, with a little history in the box. ๐

Hereโs a story for you. We started filming without owning the title and had to do alternates.
Taft Broadcasting owned the title Ghostbusters as part of their half-hour sitcom starring Larry Storch and Forrest Tucker (F-Troop) and a gorilla chasing ghosts. I had never heard of it. They didnโt have proton packs or Bill Murray. Columbia paid $500,000 to buy the name, but they really should have paid Dean Martin, from whom I first heard the term.
In the film Scared Stiff (1953), he and Jerry Lewis (check out his acrobatic stair descent) are in an old haunted castle, and Lizabeth Scott asks Dean: โWho are you guys?โ And Dean answers: โYouโve heard of Trustbusters and Gangbusters, weโre Ghostbusters!โ
For my research writing the first movie, I watched every single โghostโ comedy ever made. Bowery Boys, Hope and Crosby, Abbot and Costello, Martin and Lewis all did such films.
Happy Halloween 2026.

Your Halloween watchlist just got a lot cooler ๐ From Sugar Hill to Blacula to Blackenstein to Abby, the โ70s gave us monsters with afros, attitude, and incredible poster art. Which one are you putting on tonight?
