ALT A diagram showing how to escape a rip current along with text detailing the risk. There is a high risk of rip currents today for the beaches of Duluth and Superior, including Park Point and Wisconsin Point beaches. Dangerous waves and rip currents are expected along the shore. Swimming conditions may be life threatening to anyone entering the water. Stay out of the high surf today! Break the grip of the rip by swimming parallel to the shoreline until you are out of the rip current, then turn and swim toward shore. Repeat this action if you encounter another rip current. Know your actions: Swim at a beach with lifeguards. Never swim alone. If caught in a rip, relax, call for help, and swim along the shoreline.
