As Democrats, we are right to speak out when Republicans spread hateful rhetoric. We have the same responsibility when it comes from our own side.
Hasan Piker’s record of hateful rhetoric is clear. Senator Omar Fateh and Congresswoman Ilhan Omar should not lend him their platform.

I'm thankful for the brave first responders who are on the scene right now responding to the fire at the Helix Apartments in St. Louis Park.
I'm also thinking of all those who have been affected by this devastating fire. My office will assist those impacted in any way we can, and will share further updates and ways to help those who may be displaced as soon as possible.
Now is not the time for on-the-job training. It’s the time to double down on what’s working and on the people getting the job done.
When Trump’s ICE stripped our neighbors of their rights and dignity, I chief authored a package of bills in the Senate to protect Minnesotans from their abuse.
When gun violence was rampant in our communities, I authored Minnesota’s red flag law, championed universal background checks, and passed an assault weapons ban through the Senate this past session.
I’ve fought to make life more affordable by passing Paid Family and Medical Leave, raising the minimum wage, providing universal school meals for kids, and expanding the child tax credit for working families.
I am on the front lines of every fight for SD46, and I’ll continue fighting for our values in my next term.
Two ICE involved fatal shootings in under a week, Houston and now Biddeford, Maine, with no body cameras and shifting accounts from the Trump administration.
This is exactly why I authored the ICE Accountability Package here in Minnesota, requiring independent state investigation of any killing by federal agents and banning agents from concealing their identities.
We need transparency, oversight, and real consequences written into law.
While we await the facts in both of these cases, one thing is clear: accountability can’t wait, and state legislatures around the country need to act.
The picture may be blurry, but the moral clarity that guided Karen Clark in public service was crystal clear.
When then-Governor Pawlenty spoke against marriage equality in his State of the State address, Representative Clark turned her back to him and the view that our LGTBQIA+ community deserved anything less than equality.
I was honored to serve alongside her then, and joined her in that silent but powerful protest.
Representative Clark will long be remembered for her dedicated public service and relentless fight for justice. I join with all of Minnesota in mourning her loss.
One of the best parts of door knocking is hearing directly from families. Time and again, people have shared how Paid Family and Medical Leave has made a real difference in their lives.
I was proud to help pass this legislation, and I’ll keep fighting for policies that support working families in my next term.
You never know what will happen when you knock on a door.
Last night, I met Asha and her parents, who were still deciding who to support. After asking some great questions, Asha disappeared into the house.
She came back a few moments later with this handmade sign supporting my campaign.
It absolutely made my day. Thank you to Asha and her family for the warm welcome and support. The future is in good hands with young people like Asha!
Early voting STARTS TODAY for SD46!
It was great running into so many supporters as I voted at St. Louis Park City Hall.
If you’d like to do the same, please visit pollfinder.sos.mn.gov to find your polling location/info and make a plan to vote. 🗳️
Let’s go win this thing!
I’m honored to be the only labor-endorsed candidate for Senate District 46.
This endorsement wasn’t earned with campaign promises — it was earned with results.
I fought to pass paid family and medical leave. I fought to raise the minimum wage, strengthen tenant protections, and protect workers from wage theft and unsafe working conditions.
Labor endorsements matter because they’re based on your record. They come from people who have watched the votes, seen who shows up, and know who delivers when it counts.
That’s exactly what I’ll continue doing in the Senate.
This Father’s Day, I’m thinking about my dad, Bob Latz.
He passed four years ago at 91, but I feel his presence every single day. Especially when I’m working on the issues that matter most to me in the Senate.
My dad was a civil rights attorney and state legislator from North Minneapolis. He believed that family, justice, and fairness were the things that actually mattered.
As an Assistant Attorney General, he prosecuted the first charge under Minnesota’s employment discrimination law — a race discrimination case on behalf of a Black busboy who simply wanted to be upgraded to waiter. He co-authored Minnesota’s Fair Housing Law in 1961. He fought discrimination his whole life: race, sex, housing. He even fought to seat the first deaf juror in Minnesota.
JCRC Executive Director Steve Hunegs, who knew him well, said it best: “Bob worked assiduously to improve lives through all three branches of Minnesota government.”
That’s the legacy and the values that I carry forward in the State Senate every day.
It was a beautiful day in St. Louis Park at the Parktacular Parade! It was great running into so many enthusiastic supporters and seeing how much energy is behind our campaign.
Early voting starts this Friday, June 26th and August 11th is the DFL Primary.
Let’s go win this!
Firefighters play a critical role in protecting SD46. They should be honored for the service they provide and the sacrifices they make for our community.
I’m happy to stand with them and support them with full funding and resources. Next time you see a firefighter, make sure to thank them!
It was great to be at Hopkins Pride talking with the community and celebrating. I’ve been an ally and defender of LGBTQIA+ rights for decades and I will continue to lead the charge in the Senate to keep the progress going!
One year ago, we experienced the heartbreaking loss of Melissa and Mark Hortman. Today we honor their extraordinary service to Minnesota and the enduring legacy they leave behind.
The stories we hear from across the country about ICE detention centers are appalling. Minnesotans don't want to be accomplices in the federal government's abuse.
We banned MN's use of for-profit prisons in 2023 (my bill in 2021). We will resist a detention center in our state.
