Man United need to forget about attacking for a while and go back to basics like…
- Positioning on the field
- How to make and receive a pass
- How to shield the ball
- How to keep possession by recycling the ball
I remember this goal like yesterday
“E dìde fún goal” my brother’s friend said when Nigeria won what seemed a very soft free kick.
And true to his unintended command, viewers who’d crammed my father’s parlour that day stood up for goal. It was Jayjay Okocha on the ball. His prowess commanded trust.
Shortly before he took that free kick, Stephen Keshi on commentary said “if we get Jayjay on, it could be 1-1.”
And what a perfectly-weighted free kick it was . Minimal backlift.
Idris Kameni left rooted to the spot.
Nigeria’s kryptonite, Cameroon were the opposition. At that stage of the tournament, it was final before the final but it was just the quarterfinal.
The second goal was one of the most memorable I’ve ever watched.
Garba Lawal lobbed the pass to Kanu and his chest turn was one of the most magical I’ve ever seen. It took two Cameroonian players out of the equation.
The pass that followed to Utaka was sublime and the finish nailed Cameroon’s coffin.
I don’t recall watching many Super Eagles games better than that one.
The Cameroonian team held each other when they filed out. They left to the dressing room as broken individuals.
On the contrary, it makes me boil. It’s just plain hypocrisy. Did they not spend the whole season watering down his efforts and saying that Gabriel and Saliba were the ones covering his ass? David Raya was pulling saves after saves to keep Arsenal in games and eventually win his golden glove and we had people debate the prerequisite of the golden glare award just because an Arsenal GK won it. Threw themselves a party all season and now act surprised.
Congratulations Harry Kane #BallonDor
A moving man…
Replying to @Rotimi_rtx
Probably too late for Kane, this might’ve been his season, but haaland isn’t going easy on anyone.
David Raya has 20 more clean sheets and 42 fewer goals conceded in 5 more matches than Unai Simon last season for club.

Again?
