Parents, take your kids to all those birthday parties. Here's why.
Once upon a time, a million years ago, in a San Fernando Valley far, far away, my mother had a birthday party and nobody showed. Not a single kid.
With school starting, I wanted to share the story.
A thread 🧵
On @X for 13 years, never been flagged for anything, and now I'm supposed to prove I'm human??? 🤷♀️🤔
Usually @Radiolab is immensely satisfying but part 3 of "Finding Emilie" let us down. What the heck happened to Alan??

Amit levy, brother of Israeli hostage Naama Levy has spoken out in the UK Parliament to share details of his sister’s kidnapping on Oct 7th.
“You have probably seen the video of Nama being dragged hands down in the back of a jeep. There is no doubt you saw she was hurt and bleeding she looked so different it was hard to tell it was her.
It’s been 159 days and we still haven’t heard from her.
She’s soft spoken, quiet and determined. She is the kindest person I know. She believes in the good nature of human beings and tries to make the world a better place.
She wants to be a diplomat, so she can make the world a kinder place.
She cannot do that from Gaza where there is suffering.
Naama is my little sister…she was always surrounded by people who loved her so much….before that day every video of Naama was happy. You could see her enjoying her day with her siblings.
I cannot imagine what she must going through each and every day…this situation is a nightmare… the clock is ticking...please help me bring my little sister back now.”
Naama Levy was last seen in an infamous video where she was dragged from the back of the jeep and thrown inside as she dripped with blood.
She has not been seen or heard of since.

I wonder if anyone turned down @DollyParton 's request to cover/duet their song, and how dumb are they feeling now? #Rockstar #dollyparton #dollypartonrockstar
Utilities should not be privately owned, for-profit monopolies. They cause fires while putting our money in their pockets. Electricity should be a public asset, and profits should always go to improvements. @RepAdamSchiff @ewarren @SenSanders

Why Are There So Many Asian American Women Named Connie? nyti.ms/3I3i0FI
I'm a little surprised that @nytimes published specific information about where to buy high-quality counterfeit designer goods. Isn't there an ethical code to not tell people how to break the law? @Hermes_Paris @CHANEL @gucci @LoeweOfficial @chloefashion
Inaccurate headline on @marketwatch by @aarthiswami. Yes, you CAN get a 40-year mortgage. They have been available for some time. What you can't get is a new 40-year FHA loan. I will be happy to provide sources if you have any doubts.
Savoring my last @SimplyProteinCa bar and wondering if you'll make it back into Costco?

It’s the guns
I don't know why a "successful" business operation would close after 18 months. What a HUGE disappointment that the @HarryPotterNY #virtualreality experience was shuttered two weeks before our chance to do it.
Doesn't matter how much time goes by. @DollyParton always brings joy. And Carol Burnett has me falling out of my chair. youtube.com/watch?v=9CAPWKTj…

I have posted this before but ..
26 years ago, a gunman entered
Dunblane Primary School in Scotland,
killing 16 kids and a teacher. The UK
govt responded by enacting tight gun
control legislation. In the 9400+ days
since, there have been a total of O
school shootings in the UK.
We got our money's worth at the @taylorswift13 show. She's very likeable, that one. #lavenderhaze

NE State Sen. Machaela Cavanaugh (D-Omaha) prepares to filibuster every bill on the legislative agenda unless Republicans pull their anti-trans bill.
"If people are like, 'Is she threatening us?,' let me clear: Yes, I am. I am threatening you."
Interesting data comparing #chapter13 #bankruptcy to #debtsettlement and what happens to your #creditscore. Well known that both are difficult options. But the findings are more than a little surprising.
