BoxRec eases restrictions on foreign boxers competing in Thailand A BoxRec editor has informed me that its acceptance criteria will now include eight-round non-title bouts, expanding beyond the previously accepted 10- and 12-round title contests. The adjustment follows what BoxRec describes as significant improvements in matchmaking during the first six months of its Thailand policy. All bouts must be genuine, competitively matched and meet its quality standards. Mismatches, fixed fights and manufactured wins remain unacceptable. Existing documentation requirements remain unchanged, including: • Letter of Clearance (LOC) from the foreign boxer’s home commission • ID photo • Face photo • Video • Boxer’s profile, including height, reach and stance • Any other documentation already required BoxRec plans to review the policy again in a few months and may ease restrictions further if the positive trend continues.
