Odisha’s Hon’ble Chief Minister, Shri Mohan Charan Majhi, inaugurated four key initiatives in Kendujhar Forest Division, including AI-enabled e-Eye railway surveillance, 100 biogas units, 10 community grain storage houses in elephant-affected villages and upgraded facilities at Sanaghagara Nature Camp.
These initiatives aim to enhance elephant safety, reduce human-elephant conflict, support forest-fringe communities and promote eco-tourism.

Acting on reliable information regarding suspected wildlife hunting at Banamahuldiha village within Atei Reserve Forest under Patna Range, the Forest Department staff conducted an operation and apprehended two persons, namely 1. Ranjit Munda and 2. Kanhei Nayak, both residents of Banamahuldiha. During the operation, the team seized the head and legs with hooves of a wild pig from their premises. The accused are now forwarded to judicial custody, as per due procedure.
The Kendujhar Forest Department reiterates its commitment to preventing illegal hunting and protecting wildlife.
