I’m instinctively *for* wind farms. However, the large-scale industrialisation of the Scottish uplands due to the proliferation of turbines and phone masts is something that needs to be reigned in. At what point do we say “enough”? thenational.scot/news/252365…

One of the most oft quoted inaccuracies associated with Scottish Orca is their inability to reproduce. That's true only for the West Coast community which now consists of just two bulls. Since 2014, at least twelve calves have been born into our three Northern Isles community pods including this one to 'Vaila' - the matriarch of the '27s' - in 2022.

Tonight a challenge - and it's not Lego related. Does anyone recognise the person in this photo, or the distinctive room? We're trying to help Charlotte Mason trace the owner of a GoPro she found back in 2022. The GoPro was found in Scotland, but Charlotte thinks the owner may be Italian.

Orca Calf... Absolutely thrilled to watch and photograph the newest member of the 27s Orca pod off the west Mainland of Shetland today. Born just a few months ago in November 2024 to first time mum '152' (right). Special! 🖤🤍🧡

Crazy. Even the webcams in the Bavarian Alps are picking up the aurora. I’ve not seen anything like this for a long time. foto-webcam.eu/webcam/zugspi…

If where you live in the U.K. is cloud-free this evening, cast your gaze northwards. The northern lights should be visible as far south as southern England. A very rare event indeed.
