New doctors should not be forced to work 80 hours a week for incredibly low wages. I’m proud to stand in solidarity with @CIRSEIU frontline physicians in @countyofla fighting not only for decent wages and working conditions, but to improve care for their patients.

Today, residents across the LA County Department of Health Services Hospitals will vote to strike for a fair contract. The county has refused to respond with reasonable counter offers and continuous to come unprepared to contract negotiation meetings. Enough is enough.

Residents should not have to work 80 hours each week in a hospital. It was an honor to meet with residents at UVM Medical Center who are organizing a union in order to provide not only decent wages and working conditions, but to improve care for their patients.
