Hispanic/Latinos have never been higher than 11% of a midterm electorate. Today in the early vote they are 13%. We see what happens over the next few days but we may be witnessing a truly historic Hispanic/Latino turnout this year.

Análisis de @simonwdc de los números de voto hasta ahora: una afluencia casi 50% mayor al 2024 entre los votantes latinos, que se acercan al 13% del electorado total en Estados Unidos en el 2026.
Son cifras extraordinarias.

“In late 2015, as damning evidence emerged about contaminated water in Flint and the first lawsuits started trickling in, then-Governor Rick Snyder turned to wealthy donors and a cadre of crisis PR consultants, lawyers, and other advisors to survive the growing scandal.
One of the firms hired by the embattled Republican governor was the Washington D.C.-based lobbying and public relations firm Mercury Public Affairs”
Now, the firm and their Flint water tactics are back with a $1.5 million disinformation and attack campaign targeting Black voters in Michigan that’s funded by outside interests in support of the Republican US Senate candidate.
The influence and disinformation tactics that were deployed over the last decade to protect the perpetrators of the Flint water crisis have found their way into the US Senate race:
“Outside groups spend millions on ads to weaken Black support for El-Sayed in Michigan Senate race”
“The money isn’t from Michigan. The public relations group that developed the message isn’t either, though they do have previous ties to the state, including one of the worst public health emergencies in Michigan history.”

We did something different; we went to gas stations, parking lots, and liquor stores to find voters where they are. No filters. No political jargon. And sometimes, hard conversations—but a shining example of @AbdulElSayed's reach is how many Black voters are excited for him.

Democratic nominee for Mississippi Senate Scott Colom started his campaign with just four people attending his town hall. Now, he’s built a people-powered movement in a reliably-red state. youtube.com/watch?v=53TxKUKq…

I’m sorry @RubleKB and I couldn’t wedge the Haley Stevens / Jason Turkish narrative into this. :/ michiganpublic.org/politics-…

Journalists cannot decide what other people think is important. Their job is to illuminate what they think is in the public interest. I think reporting on rape allegations levied against the president of the United States is in the public interest. thenation.com/article/politi…

I tried to explain this manufactured controversy to a friend and it went about as well as doing tech support for my parents over the phone.

Some Trump voters who have turned against him are inaccurately reporting their prior vote, meaning polls that weight to prior vote are likely underestimating Democratic vote share

Why did The New York Times publish its Alaska Senate race investigation so close to Election Day? How did @nytimes editors weigh a source’s retraction request? What did the reporting reveal? I spoke with @Kellen_Browning & @AmyEGardner about all of it. nytimes.com/2026/10/31/insid…

Just talked to voters at an early voting center in Detroit. No one I spoke to had any knowledge of what Rep. Haley Stevens and her fiancé are saying.

Hate has played an arresting role in the late stages of Michigan’s Senate race, in which Abdul El-Sayed is facing the former U.S. congressman and Donald Trump ally Mike Rogers. At a rally in Port Huron early this week, Trump announced, “I’m here to keep a jihadist Muslim Brotherhood member from becoming a U.S. senator.” But El-Sayed does not take these statements lying down. His reputation is that of a know-it-all who is happy to scorch anyone who opposes him. Sarah Jukaku, his wife, described him as a counterpuncher. “If you are respectful, he will be so respectful. If you are kind and warm, he will be so kind and warm. He will mirror it with more,” she told Eliza Griswold.
