Now comes the part where none of them know each other.
Until the Vance campaign kicks off.

Trump hasn't even claimed this himself. This is what I mean when I talk about TEU ( Trump Extended Universe ): a part of what Trump represents is just wished into existence by fanboys.
This is why everyone is buying sports teams and related assets
"... shatter capital..."
Caesarism marks the spiritual death of a people for Spengler, inevitably followed by ossification or imperium. It can never restore life, re-instantiate public virtue, or ultimately reverse decline.
Under Caesarism, a once-fecund civilization becomes an ever-swelling tombstone to its former existence, a perpetual rerun of its own history. It hovers over itself as a ghost. This is ultimately what “stuck culture” is.
We’ve given up organicism, grass-roots, the joyous labor of growing and building institutions; now we just want a strongman to shatter capital and still the entropy.

This is all such non-sense.
It doesn't apply to all data centers just newly permitted.
They have to pay taxes - they already do that.
They are going to commit to no increases for consumers in power prices - they already do that.
No impact on water availability - they don't have any real impact.
Use union labor - this one is just a silly give away to unions. They already have to pay top dollar to get the right talent. My guess is this one goes away.
In other words, no real impact on data centers....
The governor-elect of Texas, Gina Hinojosa, has explicitly said that all currently permitted datacenters in Texas will be allowed to finish construction. This essentially covers all of the 2027 and likely well into 2028.
She is going to pass laws that ensure that all *newly* permitted datacenters going forward for delivery in 2028/2029 will pay taxes, commit to no increase in power prices for consumers, don’t impact water availability for people, be constructed with union labor and give “Texans a seat at the table.”
Sounds reasonable. She doesn’t want to lose a lot of good blue collar jobs and property taxes for small towns in rural Texas.
Datacenter commentary starts at 6:30 in this interview.
Also attaching her official campaign position from her website in the next post.
Sidenote: After watching a bunch of her speeches and interviews, I do think she is a political talent and probably has a future in national politics.

War is mid-game. What is the alternative that you anti-war people propose now and how is it better than what Trump is doing? Didn't think that far?
If you're merely making a moral argument anti-war/minab, etc... your virtue has been noted. This opinion is no use going forward.

I think risk seeking applies to Netanyahu, although he has to figure out his government. Trump is liberated by the midterm result in a way. The "worst" has happened and can pursue strategic goals without polls.
Anyway, the choice of war and peace is not subject to midterms, etc.
JD Vance takes the MAGA baton forward into the post-Trump era
"1) End the war
2) Focus on cost of living/inflation
3) Put America First
4) Change our relationship to Israel"
The strategic failure of the Iran adventure finished both Bibi and Trump - both have nothing to lose and have a propensity to act impulsively

Marc Andreessen says affordability is "the fundamental political question of our time."
"It's just not acceptable that if I can't spend $3 million, I can't have a house that's in a good neighborhood with a good job attached to it.
It's just not acceptable that a four-year college degree is gonna cost a million dollars.
And it's just not acceptable that this health care monster is running out of control.
In many ways, this is the fundamental political question of our time."
