Why exchanges should provide more tools to assist traders Since I joined extended, my day has been all about how to make an exchange a better place for the individual trader, whether retails or institutional (by the way, this text only contains my personal opinion as a trader, not as a member of the extended team). to start with, I think vaults are in my top 1 of the best meta's out there, getting paid to take the counterparty from traders is a blessing, people often have trouble understanding why low yield is attractive, but apart from the exploits that are increasingly well known and fixed, there's very little risk, you're just collecting a yield because the player in front of you is dumber and thinks he's smart but i still think there's a huge lack of tools to help trader to shine, and that the existing ones are just crap in a box to scam users, the twap meta is the one i hate the most, people don't have enough experience or knowledge to realize that they're being robbed of money, and that only very specific players need it, Copy trading, even if I believed in it at the time, has ended up as a cashgrab for influencers who make eternal promises to their users, and dynamic grids, even if the idea is very good, often lack the customization that would make these strategies more dynamic and profitable. So what do we do about it? I'm still thinking about it, and I think a good first step would be to give more automation tools, and the backtesting that goes with them, to see the real returns. EX: -see return of the day/week if I long at 3:30 pm and close at 4:30 pm -see return of the year if I long an EMA 9 1D, and take profit at EMA 11 1D this example can become extremely long, the main thing is that you get the idea, I think the exchange gets a kick out of deploying this kind of solution because many of them require a market order, which generates revenue, and insilico said something a few years ago that has always stuck in my mind: “a user who survives will always provide more revenue in the long term than a user who dies and never comes back”, I think we're at a time when the exchange should no longer just provide a trading engine and orderbook, but offer its users the opportunity to customize their experience beyond a simple long or short, I don't think it's easy, but I think it would be a wonderful meta where the exchange would have much longer term and healthier users, so I'm going back to work on it
