Over 40 years ago I read+re-read this book...it inspired me so much. Years later it was a privilege to sit in the same press box as its writer Brian Glanville - and discover he was as generous + warm-hearted as his written words were colourful + insightful. RIP#BrianGlanville
Privileged to attend the premiere of 'Commando Missions'...airs tonight on @HISTORYUK at 9pm...inspiring and important WW2 stories told by brilliant and brave people. @authordlewis @cockleshell_22

Meet Colin Bell DFC.
He flew 50 raids over Germany in WWII.
He raises money for charity so tirelessly aged 103 he has just been awarded an BEM in the #NewYearHonours 👏👏
He is the voice of the Bomber Command Monument in my upcoming book: Lest We Forget.
He is a living legend.
