Happy birthday to country music legend Lee Greenwood! Best known for his patriotic anthem "God Bless the U.S.A.," the Grammy Award-winning singer has become a familiar voice at President Donald Trump's rallies, with his iconic song often playing as the president takes the stage. Greenwood has performed at several of Trump's rallies and political events, including inauguration celebrations and America's 250th anniversary festivities in Washington, D.C., earlier this year.

RIP to a great country artist and the pride of Apopka, FL, John Anderson. “Seminole Wind” is one of the best songs of all-time about Florida.
John Anderson, whose unmistakable voice helped make him a country music legend, died peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday at age 71, his family said. @anthonymasoncbs, who spoke with Anderson in 2022, after a mysterious illness “almost completely” took away the singer-songwriter’s hearing, takes a look at his legacy.

Terrible!!
Mike Tyson's former trainer Kevin Rooney is battling dementia, with his son @KevinCRooney devastated that Netflix's new documentary barely acknowledges the man who helped Tyson become the youngest heavyweight champion in history. “My dad obviously doesn’t remember it anymore. And now it’s like it seems like history is trying to like completely write him out of the picture.” 🥊💔

There’s no way to put into words how sad we are to that our old friend John Anderson has passed away. Not only do we consider him one of the greatest singers ever and the writer of some of our favorite songs, but more than that, we consider him a brother. Our friendship with John goes all the way back to the neighborhood where we grew up and the playground across the field from his house where everyone played. It goes back to our first trip to Nashville, when John offered us wise advice and brotherly support. All of that is why every time we got to share a stage with John, it felt like we were home. We’re sending our prayers to John’s family, who he so dearly loved. May God offer extra comfort and peace to them. John, old friend, you once sang a line that said, “I’m just an old chunk of coal—but I’m gonna be a diamond someday”—you are indeed that diamond today. Rest well at home with Jesus.

“John Anderson (1954–2026) was a one-of-a-kind stylist. Whether borrowing inspiration from Lefty Frizzell or the Florida swamp land, he brought creative soul to the world. John famously gave life to Billy Joe Shaver’s lyric, ‘I’m just an old chunk of coal, but I’ll be a diamond someday.’ He was already a diamond then, and a diamond he always will be.” — Kyle Young, CEO
