Yeah, I was talking nonsense 馃ぃ馃憦
Apart from being tone-deaf, this is just plain wrong from Avram Glazer.
Yes Manchester United enjoyed a brief commercial boom as on-field results plummeted post-Ferguson 鈥斅爎eflecting a change in the club's priorities 鈥斅燽ut since then commercial income has flatlined in an era of huge growth elsewhere (e.g. Liverpool and Arsenal). A failing #MUFC still holds great commercial appeal, obviously, but a successful #MUFC would bring in far more revenue, commercially and otherwise.
Does Avram Glazer really believe what he's saying? Surely not. Although it would explain a lot ...

We pushed so much to be part of these nights again under the light @ManUtd I鈥檓 just hoping the side @B_Fernandes8 & @HarryMaguire93 @BMbeumo19 can find a performance to kick start our season tonight & get us on the road to 4 wins to play knockout rounds of @ChampionsLeague
Absolutely embarrassing that no rumours of new CEO & director of football @ManUtd . Those at the top of the club are clueless, we need regime change at the club in the boardroom, priority 1 but pinky & perky can鈥檛 be there either @OmarBerrada & Wilcox
When are the ostriches coming out? @OmarBerrada / Wilcox & @INEOS / Glazers. Just see she鈥檒l shocked faces in the stands from two of them 馃ぃ. @manutd recruitment / decisions & leak of planning all come home to roost
Game played out as expected really, some chances missed then after half time switch off & get punished. Then absolute capitulation in the second half after going 1 goal down
Joe Cole is fucking clueless about @ManUtd if you don鈥檛 think the fans have been patient you鈥檝e been living under a rock. @tntsports need clued up speaking about the club
Second time in 2 weeks had to switch off. The lack of discipline & effort is shocking from this team @manutd. The ownership has to change
I鈥檓 happy that Carrick stays, it puts more focus on these owners & highlights the incompetence of @OmarBerrada & Wilcox @INEOS . The anger is just going to get bigger & it finally might get this fanbase @ManUtd to no longer accept the nonsense we鈥檝e seen.
Those that cry the manager is staying when are you going to get it we need to get these owners out once and for all to get our @ManUtd @GNev2 @rioferdy5 & others are absolutely bottling it. We are in the cycle and we鈥檝e got to get them out the club, walk outs whatever needed
