If you're following someone who is comparing the Cam Jurgens trade with the Quenton Nelson trade & trashing the Ravens for it.. you can just mute them.
Because they don't understand trades.
Or the salary cap.
Or contracts.
Or the NFL.

I bet the farm Eric picks up talks to the Colts or Chargers, you always listen. Here are issues with the Ravens:
- It’s like 1-2m cap space.
- No Ravens extension to get more
- Anyone coming needs to have money transfer (old team picks up, Ravens extend)
It will be hard.

Obv it‘s hard to definitively say and they always look to improve the team but realistically speaking do you think they‘ll make a move maybe a Buckner or Mack for a lower Draft pick

NFL football is not Madden with no salary cap. And other teams play as well. This isn’t one where the Ravens get the first, second, and third chance to do something than the other teams can do it instead.

A brief history of Lamar Jackson injury narratives in Baltimore:
🟣 2021: Lamar hurts his ankle. John Harbaugh calls it a sprain. It's actually a bone bruise.
⚫️ 2022: Lamar hurts his knee. Harbaugh says it's not season-ending. Lamar later says the injury was "on the borderline" of a complete ligament tear.
🟣 2025: Lamar hurts his back. Harbaugh calls it a "bruise of some kind." He later says that muscles can "lock up" around deep contusions like Lamar's.
⚫️ 2026: Lamar hurts his ankle. Jesse Minter calls him "day-to-day." Lamar later says he couldn't run during the week of Minter's comments — and that his injury is a high-ankle sprain.
This is what can happen when sports medicine, gamesmanship and injury reporting collide:

“I don’t think it’s contract related. I do believe he’s injured. But there’s something that always rubs me just slightly the wrong way when Lamar is out and he is unwilling to just say exactly what it is.”
@GregJennings breaks down what it’s like to have an injury as a player:
Tracy Wolfson: "Came as a shock to the Ravens that Lamar couldn't go"

Nelson is due ~$10M for the balance of the yr. Ravens only have ~$1.2M in Cap space, so they would have had to restructure a deal or two or asked the Colts to eat some salary (which then have probably cost a 2nd). Seattle had enough Cap space to make the deal w/o Colts eating $.

Guard runs 20 yards downfield (total, not N-S) to push his RB for an extra yard tops and gets hurt.
Can't make it up.

Another tough one for the #Ravens' offensive line but not a catastrophic injury, at least.
#Ravens first-round guard Vega Ioane, one of the NFL’s best rookies this season, suffered an MCL sprain against the #Bengals, sources tell me and @MikeGarafolo.
It’s considered to be a short-term injury, though he will miss a little time.

Sources: The #Ravens are signing veteran safety Rayshawn Jenkins.
The 10-year veteran has started 92 career games and brings much-needed depth to Baltimore’s secondary.

This mess started in 2021. They lost their identity as a defense haven’t drafted to fit any of the defensive schemes except for McDonald, but even he couldn’t cover the issues in the secondary at the end the hiring of Orr the bad drafts and the inability to develop talent.

Kinda hate this argument though because the team the Ravens new HC left this offseason are 0-6 and he has the Ravens at 4-3 despite Lamar missing 3.5 games

This Ravens-Bengals rewatch is brutal. The lack of effort and competitiveness in the second half jumps off the screen. It genuinely feels like the Bengals are playing against air as I watch this back

Rod Woodson was mentioning this at the end of the game.
"Where's the defensive meeting?" he wondered. In the midst of giving up 35 points in a half, no players called their teammates together. He wasn't looking for the coaches to do it. Players.

The best way I can put what I just watched between the #Ravens and #Bengals:
I didn’t expect the Ravens to win today. Even with a two-score lead at halftime, I wasn’t convinced they would hold on.
But what bothered me most wasn’t the loss itself. It was how this team responded when things started going wrong.
The Bengals came out of halftime and scored with ease. The Ravens followed that up with a three-and-out. At that moment, fans felt like the game was over. I felt like the game was over. And watching the players, it almost seemed like they felt the exact same way.
The body language changed. Mistakes started compounding. The energy disappeared. It felt like everyone was waiting for someone else to make a play instead of taking it upon themselves to change the momentum.
To me, that’s a leadership problem.
Someone has to step up in those moments. Whether it’s on the field, on the sidelines, or between drives, somebody has to be vocal, hold people accountable, and get everyone locked back in.
Adversity is inevitable in the NFL. You’re going to give up touchdowns. You’re going to have bad drives. You’re going to lose momentum. But the response to those moments is what separates good teams from bad ones.
And right now, this team looks like one that allows a single bad sequence to completely unravel everything they’ve built.
I’m not questioning anyone’s effort or desire to win. I’m questioning who’s taking ownership when things start falling apart.
Because talent isn’t the issue. This team has enough talent to compete with just about anybody.
But when adversity hits, somebody has to be the one to stop the bleeding.
And right now, I’m not seeing that person.

Ravens OLB Trey Hendrickson on the defense giving up 35 unanswered points to his former team: "The game isn’t over until it’s over. And we have a standard of our play. So, continuing to go out there and finishing the game was most important.
"I can’t speak for everybody else, but there is a standard to the way we should prepare, and nobody should be having these side conversations on the sidelines, if there is any.”
