👀 Election fever has already spread beyond Westminster. Last week a Lib Dem councillor told HQ that he had tried to order some new Correx boards - the plastic placards used in election campaigns - only to be told the company could not fulfil the order for another month because it would be using all of November to complete a large order for the Labour Party. From today’s weekend long read with @whazell Story 👇 inews.co.uk/news/politics/in…

Recently I met with migrant care workers again, because talking to people impacted by our policy is important and helps make sure the right decisions are made. Care workers should be exempt from retrospective settlement extensions.

The funny thing about Stratford International: it’s not international. That needs to change. Bringing cross-Channel rail services to Stratford would boost jobs and £1.3 billion in tourism spending. I’m working with the government to get it on track. cityam.com/sadiq-khan-run-in…

I've listened. You're completely ignoring the fundamental issue. Andy Burnham's strategy of re-uniting the Left is working. He's close to breaking 30%. With the right split, tactical voting and greater voter efficiency, that's all he needs.

Interesting insight from one of the pro-Palestine Green Party chats. One activist suggests Zionism is Racism not going down too well on the by-election doorstep. (WhatsApp image recreated)

The Tory Bayeux Tapestry is very funny and a great skewering of most of the main characters, apart from Angela Rayner who looks absolutely iconic in every image

EXC: Zack Polanski asked another candidate to run in his place in the Holborn and St Pancras by-election. Polanski twice attempted to convince Andrew Feinstein to run for the Greens, The Telegraph has been told. Feinstein stood as an independent in 2024 against Keir Starmer winning 19% of the vote. It was only after Feinstein rejected Polanski that he put himself forward to run. Publicly, Polanski has said he is ‘proud and honoured’ to stand adding that he ‘loved this place’.

Indicative of where cricket is, a game increasingly populated by mercenaries and soul-selling charlatans simply content to participate in an empty roadshow to collect a cheque. Telling that a few years ago, Lees was opening the batting for us in test matches and now he's here
Alex lees and George Munsey chased 100 runs in 4.2 overs at big boundaries of canada super 60

First past the post is the only system under which Nigel Farage could form an unchecked majority government.
Get ready for near permanent coalition government albeit after 2034 since the promise to introduce a form of proportional representation in the general election will be included in Labour manifesto for circa 2029 election. Burnham slightly implied the Commission on electoral reform he intends to establish will report before the coming election. But there is a case for delay so Labour is not tied to a single preferred system at the next election. The timetable gives a lot - a very lot - of time to build consensus. The key arguments are already in the Jenkins Commission which reported in September 1998. We don’t rush our fences in the UK.
