A little late today but Oct 27 — They Live (1988) The horror is in the depiction of our society. “Consume.” “Obey.” “This is your god.” Another entry from John Carpenter and the ’80s. @TheHorrorMaster

Oct 26 — The Menu (2022) Nothing supernatural here except the acting and the script. Very entertaining and surprisingly tense. Ralph Fiennes and Anya Taylor-Joy. If you’re not fans, after this movie you will be. @anyataylorjoy

Oct 25 — The Monster Squad (1987) Start the last week of Halloween with a family horror movie from the ’80s that has stood the test of time. Don’t let the PG rating fool you. Kids nowadays might hear some language they shouldn’t.

Oct 24 — Color Out of Space (2019) This is the only well-done version of this Lovecraft story, and we close out our week of Lovecraftian horrors with Nic Cage doing it. Enjoy, before heading into the final week of Halloween horror.

Oct 23 — Evil Dead Rise (2023) A wonderful entry into the Evil Dead universe. No Raimi or Campbell, but it was excellent. I loved it.

Oct 22 — The Whisperer in Darkness (2011) Another excellent entry by our friends at the HPLHS. This one had a better budget, and it came out fantastic. Lovecraft really is the best horror author of all time. @ahleman

Oct 21 — The Call of Cthulhu (2005) The single most iconic Lovecraft story. Brought to life by the folks at the H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society. Black and white, and one of the best versions of the story I have seen, despite being filmed on an extreme budget. @hplhs

Oct 20 — Dagon (2001) Perhaps one of the most true-to-Lovecraft movies. I’ve watched this a few times and grow more impressed with it each time.

Oct 19 — Evil Dead II (1987) It sounds like a sequel, but it’s really a remake. Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell remade this movie. It’s truly amazing. @GroovyBruce

Oct 18 — Re-Animator (1985) A movie that will always have a special place in my heart, next to the bone saw. Introduced me to Lovecraft, Barbara Crampton, and Jeffrey Combs. Gore galore. Not for kids. We begin #Lovecraft week.
