Excellent story by @ZachFuentesABC7 who interviewed me yesterday regarding Treasury guidance change on the EV models eligible for IRA incentives. abc7news.com/13145417/ (min 28:30) This change is just a starting point as car makers are increasing manufacturing here in the US 1/

This contentious interchange between the NY Times and @GinaHinojosaTX was truly amazing. Hinojosa offered one of the best explanations of populism I've ever seen. Her comments were a total rejection of Corporate Dems' neoliberal formula. Her Texas victory is a game changer.

A new report from Georgetown and Duke researchers reminds us that batteries, not fossil gas-fired power plants, are the faster, cheaper and cleaner option for serving AI data center power needs and protecting utility customers from stranded asset risks:

Over the last 2 years, Elias Law Group has litigated and won scores of voting and election cases. Tonight, we saw the results -- Democrats won free and fair elections.
In the days ahead we will protect these results from DOJ and GOP attack. When we fight, we win.🗳️⚖️💪

Dear Media
Please can you talk about the possibility that the growing extreme weather because of climate change may have contributed to bringing this plane down?
Turbulence is getting worse because of climate change. That’s a fact. University of Reading study. Flying is getting more dangerous. The planet is hotter now than it’s been in over 100,000 years and it’s going to get hotter. These are conditions that are completely unprecedented for humanity, long before aviation or even human civilisation developed.

‼️ 1000 Year Rain Event Exceeded by almost 2X in Palm Beach Florida!
For at least the 3rd time in 3 days the US has had a 1000 year rainfall event, based on our historical climate. 17 inches in 6 hours in Palm Beach Gardens. Beats the criteria of 9” by 1.8X! Staggering. Unfortunately this storm may have very well been related to the jet accident.
I saw this rain intensity once before in Palm Beach County more than a decade ago when Delray/ Boynton had 24” in about 6 hours. Closed I-95.
A 1000 year event means the historic statistical chance is 1-in-1000 each year or .1% - it does not mean it happens only one per 1000 years and now-a-days because of our warmer climate and this year because of Super El Niño it’s a lot more possible because there’s now more moisture in the atmosphere. With #ElNino expect the unexpected!!

The weather data is compelling for involvement in the crash of a Learjet-60 near Palm Beach, Florida on Sunday.
We know:
• a rapidly-growing thunderstorm was present
• moderate icing and severe turbulence occurred
We don’t know:
• if possible structural damage was a cause, or byproduct, of the dive
• if icing was severe enough to affect the controllability of the aircraft
• how quickly icing may have occurred and to what extent it contributed
The NTSB has a long investigation ahead.

By the way, the NYT story is good! And I'm a big fan of the reporter, @dgelles — actually went to this library just a few days ago to pick up his book about former General Electric CEO Jack Welch.
Hope they'll update their story to cite and link to my work.

Brazil’s Vote Is a Victory for the Amazon!
Brazil controls some 60 percent of the Amazon. Under Mr. Lula, who sought re-election after winning the presidency in 2022, deforestation fell to record lows. His administration revived environmental enforcement and pushed ambitious policies to protect and restore parts of the ailing rainforest.
The Lula government had set a target of completely halting illegal deforestation by 2030, and announced a plan to regenerate vast swaths of rainforest. At international climate talks in 2023, Brazil announced an initiative to regrow six million hectares of the Amazon by 2030, and another 18 million by 2050. #climateaction @nytimes @climatereality @algore @Sammy_Roth @sierraclub @nrdc @EnvDefenseFund

What most people don't know: when you fill up a petrol car most of the energy never moves it.
Petrol car: 13–21% of the crude oil's energy reaches wheels.
Electric car on today's UK grid: 43–45%.
Electric car on wind+solar: 77–80%.
