Tesla’s Optimus training regime leak.
Workers in its Palo Alto R&D facility have been holding “robot university” for many months already. Press got it wrong when they said it just started up.
Workers are wearing 24 lb suits with up to 40 cameras and grids of 3D sensors. To capture very detailed video and 3D fields of whatever the worker does.
There are multiple configurations.
They are given different tasks to do. They don’t know where the tasks come from.
Multiple squads are working on three shifts 24 hours a day. Similar efforts were seen at the Texas factory.
The data collection effort is immense.
A Tesla car only has nine cameras.
This leads to a data flywheel that is orders of magnitude more data than the car captured.
Separate teams are capturing home data, like making a sandwich, while other teams capture jobs on factory floor, like installing HVAC systems in cars.
Elon isn’t playing around.
I can’t tell you how I learned this.

$TSLA now back over $400 🔥
Feels damn good.
Still down YTD but the year isn’t over.
Monday before the open I said TSLA should be ripping - FSD, Cybercab, Robotaxi and Optimus. That’s real work.
$SPCX keeps getting the darling-child treatment. TSLA keeps doing the hard stuff as the red-headed stepchild.
Wonder where we’d really be if SPCX never IPO’d.

As the magic car pulls up and knows his name and he asks Grok to tell him the latest news after a casual question and beams footage at command. Unreal. 😅

It’s time for another addition of ‘FSD chat time’ and in fact, this one is actually FSD related.
I’m thinking that @grok can help.
How much would a state or federal government save by immediately reducing traffic collisions by a 7X rate?
Why not incentivize that?
Protecting life and limb is one thing but instigating direct savings for taxpayers is icing on the cake.

Most of us forget Tesla has an energy business, and its backlog just hit a record $10.73 billion at the end of Q3 after sitting near $10 billion for six quarters.
Customers are also paying more upfront. Prepayments held on Tesla Energy contracts rose to $3.30 billion, up from $2.04 billion at the end of last year.
About $4.80 billion of the backlog is expected to become revenue within 12 months, and the Houston Megafactory started production in the quarter.

Tesla FSD Miles going parabolic.
FSD miles are a flywheel.
To catch up, rivals have to copy 4 things at once:
1) a huge fleet w millions of cars
2) deep vertical integration: chip, software, training, and OTA updates, all in-house
3) get thru a decade long march of the 9's ie edge cases learned from billions of miles, not hand-coded
4) crazy compounding as better FSD, more subs, more miles, better FSD, etc

DEI destroys all it touches. And is unlawful.
It must be extirpated.
And those promoted and practiced DEI need to be removed--permanently--from positions of influence.

When universities repeatedly hire and promote for DEI, instead of hiring and promoting for aptitude and accomplishment, they inevitably become dominated by mediocrities--or worse--and ultimately cease being functioning universities.

How did 13 members of a civilian jury come to a different conclusion than @MIT?
Answer: MIT’s investigation was not exactly independent thanks to coordinated female faculty collusion. It was a kangaroo court and the verdict was pre-determined
🚨 BOMBSHELL COURT EVIDENCE EXPOSES INSIDER INFLUENCE OVER MIT'S TENURE-REVIEW PROCESS IN THE DAVID M. SABATINI ORDEAL.
🔱 NEW REVELATION — Court evidence exposes MIT Professor Sangeeta Bhatia's involvement in the selection of Sabatini's tenure-review committee
On 27 September 2021, Kristin Knouse exchanged messages with Izabella Pena following a conversation with @MIT Professor Sangeeta Bhatia.
The court-disclosed messages reveal Kristin Knouse telling Izabella Pena:
🔴 “Sangeeta just called”
🔴 “they even asked for insight into who to put on the committee”
🔴 “AND she said she will go to Rafael Reif’s office and protest the decision if and when needed.”
Pena responded:
“At least they are asking her insight”
Knouse replied:
“Exactly”
“This is good”
⚠️ The evidence exposes a troubling channel of insider influence surrounding MIT's tenure-review process.
These contemporaneous communications document that Knouse understood Bhatia to have been consulted about the committee's composition and to be prepared to challenge its eventual decision directly with MIT President Rafael Reif.
Rather than an independent review insulated from interested parties, the messages reveal access to the committee-selection process by an academic aligned with the complainant, raising serious concerns about institutional impartiality and conflicts of interest.
This disclosure adds another significant piece to the growing documentary record surrounding the institutional handling of Professor @DMSabatini's case.
