because the talking head sports industrial complex is run out of Chicago, New York and LA, and until that changes, you’re going to get an hour of “what’s wrong with the Eagles” discourse for every five minutes highlighting the jaguars kicking ass.
Watching the Jaguars/Ravens game and I have no idea why the Jaguars aren't getting more Super Bowl buzz. I think the Bears are as good as anyone now that they have Simmons, but the Jaguars were 13-4 last season and Trevor Lawrence looks astronomically better than he's ever been before. He's got such a crazy deep ball he's somehow averaging like 12 yards per attempt in the rain while only having a 55% completion percentage. For that matter, I don't know why more people don't talk about what a stud the Jaguars' head coach is. The guy came in and won 13 games with a team that was 4-13 the year before and is now 5-2 with his quarterback nobody thought was that great 3 years ago leading the league in passer rating, TD%, and yards per attempt. That's actually a better year-over-year improvement than Ben Johnson's rookie season and he's doing this with a quarterback who was later into his career and needed more bad habits fixed than Caleb did. They seem like they're being slept on because they aren't as sexy or innovative as the Bears.

That was the worst sneak in NFL history, goodnight all

Trevor just not quite pulling the string on some of these throws against the blitz.

De-polarization everywhere. Could be a very different map by 2032. Re-apportionment and re-draws are likely to result in numerous dummymanders for both sides.
Alabama Gov voted to the left of NH and VT.

Kinda this More voters are embracing being a short-term rental-no real switching cost, no partisan moats.
Texas: 20% of Republicans under 45 voted for Talarico (per Voter Poll). 9% among over 45. In 2024, 10% of Democrats under 45 voted for Trump (per my CES analysis). 3% among over 45. Welcome to the new normal: Younger generations are less firmly attached to partisanship.

Huntsville is quickly becoming Northern Virginia 2.0 for the rest of the state. Massive influx of engineers and knowledge economy workers, and it’s only accelerating. New blue wall is under construction
Just now seeing how close #ALGov was. Tuberville is not a campaign dynamo — he coasts on Alabama’s GOP partisan advantage and doesn’t debate. Def helped Rep. Figures (who beat a GOP gerrymander) that the high black turnout was matched by Rs yawning and sharing memes.

Huntsville aint hick town
Though he’s on track to very narrowly lose it, Doug Jones is doing better in AL-5 this year that he did against Roy Moore in 2017!

Cindy Hyde-Smith is going to represent Mississippi in the United States Senate for the next six years. We believe thousands of votes remain to be counted from dozens of Republican counties, and we are confident those votes will reinforce her path to victory. Election officials are continuing the normal process of counting outstanding ballots, including absentee ballots. They must have the time to complete that work and ensure every lawful ballot is accurately counted and every Mississippian’s voice is heard. We expect Democratic lawyers to pull out every stop, and we are prepared. Our focus is on completing the count and returning Cindy Hyde-Smith to the Senate to keep fighting for Mississippi values.

Sometimes, you don’t need to pass a law!
Dear dozens of new economic populist members of Congress, You’ll face fast pressure to deliver economic results. How to do it? Subpoena CEOs. A shocking amount of time, they'll change what they are doing long before you pass a bill or actually cut off their federal funding. So: - Subpoena Google for cramming AI down our kids throats. Threaten to amend the FAR to prohibit contracting across the U.S. government with any company forcing kids to use AI. - Subpoena the private equity managers enshittifying hospitals, dialysis centers, your local vet, your local primary care provider. Name individuals, not just companies. Shame them. Show the public (and public pension funds) how they make their money. - Subpoena health insurers who use AI to auto-deny valid claims, triage mental health emergencies, or upcode diagnoses. Make them stop that. - Subpoena the airlines for systematically denying cash refunds to travelers. (“Here’s a voucher instead!”) Show your hand – threaten the subpoena now, before Thanksgiving. - Subpoena Brazilian meatpacker JBS for literally anything. For child labor, for getting fat and rich off of cattlemen, for making their workers work so fast their hands curl into claws, for persistent hygiene allegations. - Subpoena corporate landlords. Show the public how they get rich off of hidden fees and not fixing their apartments. - Subpoena any company that has been slow to issue tariff refunds to small business owners. I bet they’ll get their checks a lot quicker! Will it work? See what happened when Instacart was exposed as secretly marking up your grocery cart... Yes, it can work. P.S. If anyone tells you “No, you can’t do that” or “No, there’s a process for that,” ignore them. You know what time it is.
