So cool to celebrate with friends/family at The Price of Becoming book launch party.
Felt like a wedding. A lotta smiles, hugs, and laughing with friends.
And my dad even did a victory-shot toast.
Loved it. Thank you for your support of this book!

This is such an under appreciated part of leadership in my opinion what Clark Lea (@Coach_Lea) is talking about with @VandyFootball
As the leader, you always have to make sure your “skies are up.” ⛷️
You can’t afford to have a bad day, because everyone else’s day is depending on you.
You can’t give up a night before to anything other than preparation for the next day, because if you’re not ready to go the pace of the position will drag you thru the wake 🌊
🌅 Every coach, boss, or leader knows the feeling, everyone’s problems become your problems as soon as the sun rises. So you have to make sure you’re emotionally, physically, and mentally ready to go day in and day out.

I’ll say it again: @Coach_Lea is a top-three coach in America. He has the perfect balance of being a motivator and a disciplinarian. On top of that, he coaches with tremendous heart and soul.
What does @Coach_Lea look for when hiring a leader?
1. Relationship Builder - A genuine care for others.
2. Technical Understanding - "Someone in search of a better way to do it. Chase your curiosity."
3. Clear Communication - "Take hard things and make them simple."

Vanderbilt @VandyFootball Head Coach Clark Lea (@Coach_Lea) on his unique philosophy that "Belief is a Practice.":
🎯 You don't wake up one day believing you're capable, you have to build that belief through the repeated practice of doing difficult things, honoring your standards, and keeping promises to yourself. The same works for teams. There has to be a system that manufacturers opportunities to earn belief each and everyday.
📈 Every workout, film session, game, rep, is a vote for the identity you're becoming. Collectively and individually. CONFIDENCE comes from EVIDENCE. The more evidence your habits provide, the stronger your belief becomes.
🚀 If you find yourself asking, "Do I believe?" Ask instead, "What did I do today that gives me a reason to believe?" Belief isn't something you decide, it's something you practice.

Head Coach Clark Lea (@Coach_Lea) on the core belief behind building his culture with @VandyFootball:
"Better people make better players."
Too often we separate life into lanes. 🛣️
📍I'm a coach here. A parent here. A student here. An athlete here.
As if excellence can be compartmentalized. 📦
But really it can't. ⛽️ Because growth in one area fuels growth in every area.
Conversely, stagnancy in one area impacts the staleness of others. 🍞
Showing up on time.
Keeping your word.
Being present.
Seeking help.
Serving others.
Those aren't just life skills. They're performance skills.
You don't flip a switch and become a leader on game day. Those character traits compound.
Same thing for players. The habits that make you a better teammate are the same habits that make you a better spouse, friend, employee, and parent.
Development is never isolated. In any industry.
It's always integrated. 💿
The strongest programs don't just build better athletes.
They build better people, and better people make better teams. #AnchorDown
