I don't often share fundraisers, but this particular crime was so abominable that it seems like the least I could do. gofundme.com/f/one-act-of-vi…

One moment he was supporting two young cadets selling poppies, the next he was transported to hospital with life-altering injuries.
In a matter of moments, this family's entire world changed.
He is now facing a long and uncertain road ahead, including spinal surgery, an extended hospital stay and what will undoubtedly be an incredibly challenging recovery.
I don’t generally share these, but for this one I am morally compelled to … 🇨🇦😞

My thoughts and prayers are with Private Daniel Thrasher, a young man from our Windsor-Essex community who was critically injured while serving at Canadian Forces Base Wainwright, Alberta, as well as with his loved ones and every family affected by this devastating tragedy. We mourn those who lost their lives, honour their service, and hope for the full recovery of those who were injured.
Daniel is a graduate of L'Essor and the University of Windsor, and he made the selfless decision to serve Canada. Now, during one of the most difficult moments, it is our turn to stand behind him and his family. A fundraiser has been organized to support Daniel and his family during his recovery. Windsor-Essex has always been a community that comes together when it matters most, and I encourage everyone who can to consider lending their support.
Daniel, we are all pulling for you. Our community stands with you and your family. 🇨🇦

“I do not want to lose $90 billion for the privilege of allowing Canada to have a healthcare system and other things that they shouldn’t have. They spend our money.”
This post is too fucked up for a response, but when it comes to healthcare, your job is to ensure Israeli’s keep their top notch universal healthcare.

Canadian here, I pay taxes to fund our healthcare.
Americans pay taxes to fund Israel’s healthcare.
Trump: I do not want to lose $90 billion for the privilege of allowing Canada to have a healthcare system and other things that they shouldn't have. They spend our money!
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The statement in the video misstates the US-Canada trade deficit as a $90B loss subsidizing healthcare; the goods and services deficit was $27B in 2025 and stems mainly from US purchases of Canadian oil while Canada's system is funded by its own taxes.

Let’s be clear: Trump needs emergency diesel supply to save the midterms (won’t work), so Putin offers supply/bribe at 2x the cost of Canadian supply - Canadian supply he won’t seek because of pride - so, more Ukrainians shall now die. That’s #MAGA
Ryan MacIvor retweeted
Another way to think about Trump announcement today: If he increased US diesel imports from Canada by 4%, he would gain as much fuel as from this Russia deal. But the Canadians are global super-villains, so who wants to buy from them when you could enrich Putin instead?
