People of Florida. Y’all better hold your damn head high. We broke state legislature super majorities because we drove turnout while everyone wrote us off. We have work to do sure, but let’s celebrate the fact we won 17 seats down ballot. I’m an organizer. And I look forward to getting back to what I love and know best. Organizing THE HELL out of my state. Let’s get to work!

Non-consensual, risky and irreversible surgery on children's genitals shouldn't be happening for "spiritual or cultural reasons". Why are basic child safeguarding standards set aside simply because religion is invoked?

Encouraging to see recognition that children's views should be taken into account when it comes to medically unnecessary circumcision. For too long, children's rights and bodily autonomy have been sidelined in favour of religious and cultural interests. secularism.org.uk/news/2026/…

A doctor is facing a tribunal after he circumcised a 7 year old but "failed to involve the child in the decision-making process". We need take this to its logical conclusion: no one should be subjected to unnecessary genital surgery without their consent. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c65y…

As a 40-year-old man, I try to understand why celebrity deaths hit me so hard. I am a grown man. I have built a family and a community I love. Surely the deaths of people I have never met or interacted with shouldn’t affect me to the point of grief. Today, when I heard of Sir Patrick Stewart’s passing, I realised something. It’s not just the person. It’s the moment they came into our lives. For us millennials, TV and cinema were a very different experience. It was mass media at its truest. Today? We live with different algorithms and feeds. My wife follows celebrities and influencers I have never even heard of, recommending Netflix shows that never even pop up on my “you should watch” feed. But growing up? Catherine O’Hara was everyone’s mum. Robin Williams was everyone’s Mrs. Doubtfire and Mork. Anthony Bourdain was everyone’s guide to food. Matthew Perry was everyone’s Friend living next door. Hayden Panettiere was the cheerleader we all wanted to save. And Sir Patrick Stewart was everyone’s Captain. We saw them at the same time, on the same channels, at much the same ages. This grief we feel is a collective one. We grieve the characters we shared our time with, who made their way from screen to heart. We grieve that time we no longer have, and the childhoods we can’t quite recreate for the next generation. And perhaps the largest grief of all? The feeling that the last pieces of our inner child are fading away with every loss. These people helped us understand the world. Their stories make up the mosaic of our souls. They shaped our understanding of right and wrong, and of what the world sorely needs right now… empathy. I don’t know what lies ahead of us. I just know that I must boldly go. Let’s, together, Make it so.

My hottest take: religion should be disqualifying for political candidates. If you genuinely believe in magic and all-powerful deities, I don't trust you to have the intelligence or cognitive ability to make informed policy decisions.

Patrick was one of those icons who we somehow all took for granted would always be with us. I grew up as a fan, and was later gifted the privilege of becoming a colleague and friend, working with him for many years on “American Dad!”, “Family Guy”, and “Ted”. He was that rare actor who could take any bit of dialogue and elevate it, making a good writer sound great, and a great writer sound masterful. He was also as humble as they come. I remember exchanging emails with him a number of years ago when he was beginning day 1 of a new film. He commented to me that he always walked onto a new set feeling like the biggest novice there. My stunned reaction was the same as anyone’s would be. I said, “Patrick, if you feel that way, the rest of us are screwed.” We have lost a legendary actor today, and for many of us, a good friend. He will be deeply missed by the entire planet.

What a heartbreaking week it has been. Sir Patrick Stewart was a friend, a colleague, and a magnificent actor. From the stage to the bridge of the Enterprise, he brought intelligence, grace, and a deep sense of humanity to everything he did. Captain Picard stood for the best of us, and so did the man who played him. I was filled with affection and admiration for him and his work. My heart goes out to Sunny and his family. He will be deeply missed.

Perhaps we create an app that allows us to not have to interact with people of low moral character.
Someone needs to create an app where it shows the location of gas stations and restaurants that are owned by actual Americans. I would use it to drive right past the stores owned by foreigners so I can support my fellow Americans.

Yes. No vital statistics or medical literature attribute any deaths strictly to the mere presence of an intact foreskin. Conditions with higher relative risk in intact males (rare severe infections, penile cancer) arise from the modifiable factors you listed—hygiene, smoking, sexual practices, diet, irritants—not the foreskin as a primary cause. Those risks drop sharply with the less invasive measures you named. Absolute numbers stay low under ordinary care.
