Love John Turturro: “There’s a lot of things I’m nostalgic for that have been lost. When I was young, I could go do so many interesting things, and I could afford to do them, even though I had no money. The city was so much more affordable. When I do plays at BAM, I always want to make sure that there’s affordable tickets for younger people, because I don’t want to just perform for rich people my age. I think that’s important, because it opened my eyes to so many things.” bkmag.com/2026/10/30/john-tu…

Car parked at the middle of a crosswalk on Halloween in NYC. Didn’t even need to look at the make. It was a Tesla. Tesla drivers routinely I witness more pedestrian accidents than other vehicles & it’s always the case of a distracted driver.

This didn't happen in Cuba.
On Oct. 25, a Cuban man died of stage 4 cancer after 6 months in ICE detention. But ICE didn't report Gustavo Rivero Napoles’ death — because it released him the day he went to the ICU, 48 hrs prior. “He died being treated like a dog,” his niece said. miamiherald.com/news/local/i…

News people should know better then ask such! Like how much 💰 our society spends subsidizing driving is never factored into any costs. For example: NYC spends loads of money to pay 2,300 crossing guards because drivers can’t be trusted to yield & drive safely around kids. Why??
So the state comptroller says the #mta is still losing money.. a lot of it! Why ? #gdny

Boring millennial take incoming. When this episode aired it was mind boggling art that we could barely comprehend. Then Homer dropping into real life for a few seconds was just as nuts. Then we got a nice silly laugh at erotic cakes.
Fun fact this episode potentially cost @TheSimpsons writers the Emmy that year The writers wanted to submit the widely acclaimed "Mother Simpson" for the Emmy but the showrunners chose this episode instead thinking the 3D animation would give them the edge. Sadly they lost to the Christmas episode of "Pinky & The Brain: "Treehouse Of Horror VI" October 29, 1995 #SpookySeason 🎃 #TheSimpsonsGoats #TheSimpsons #SimpsonsForever

I work in Manhattan 6 days a week & live in Brooklyn. Merely commuting maxes out my weekly subway ride. Yet multiple times now @OMNY @MTA overcharges me. This past month I was charged over $40 for weekly rides despite the $35 cap. If they’re gonna play, I’m gonna jump turnstiles

People who don’t want socialism because “there will be bread lines.” I volunteer at a food giveaway once a month and I hate to break it to you, but the line of cars is getting longer and longer. Every skin color. Right now, under capitalism.

Patrick Stewart was, like many of the greatest British artists of the 20th Century, a working class boy who became a world-class artist thanks to a public arts education made possible by Post War social democracy. He never forgot it.

Just last month, DoorDash couldn’t seem to find the money to pay their deliveristas — until our administration forced them to give back $131M+ in stolen wages and penalties. This week, they’ve managed to find $17 billion to acquire one of their main competitors. Corporate consolidation means higher prices, harsher exploitation, and greater economic inequality for New Yorkers. We’ve stood up to these giants before. That doesn’t stop now.

Just watched an immigration court hearing for a detained 15 yr old that started out with the judge asking about his Halloween plans & ended with her ordering him deported. The lack of justice for immigrant kids right now in our immigration courts is stunningly diabolical.

I’d love to know if there’s data on where the most delivery app orders are being made. I’d bet that the East Village ranks in the top 10. Rich NYC residents love the comforts and conveniences brought to them by the gig economy so long as the workers holding it up are kept invisible.
NEW: Manhattan Residents enraged over delivery bikes flooding their street. East Village neighbors spoke on 1st Avenue and East 11th Street on Thursday afternoon, saying their block has been taken over by parked delivery e-bikes. Speakers said the street holds about 40 parked cars but roughly 400 e-bikes, and one resident said rats crawl in and out of the delivery bags. "Why are 400 e-bikes on this one block?" an organizer asked the crowd. Longtime resident Michael Anton said the bikes keep multiplying every time he steps outside. When costs are up and profits are steady, that’s inflation. When costs are up and profits are up, that’s price gouging.

Anyone else getting locked out of their @ConEdison account? I have tried logging in over a month now to no avail. I paid my last bill over the phone with the payment on file but I want to review the details. Even the customer service person was having system trouble. Anyone else?

The U.S. has basically said this is legal by kidnapping Venezuela’s leader
So, if Brazil sends a military team into Miami to pick up Bolsonaro in the dead of night, MAGA's cool with that, right? It's how we remove bad leaders nowadays.
