Mental health and physical health are in a complex interplay of cause and effect. It’s a shame we as a society, as well as in medicine, value one over the other.
People were pretty much unanimously okay with #SimoneBiles leaving the Olympics when they thought it was for physical health. Learning it was for mental health has been polarizing.
As a physician, let me be very clear. Mental health can be just as lethal as physical health.
This is incredible. As a student, I didn’t think I had the platform to improve the educational environment for myself and my peers, but I’m happy to say that we can. Find a mentor that believes in you and your goals and work hard toward the change! Thanks @VNikolian!
