Joshua Inwood will give the James M. Blaut Award and Plenary Lecture: “Finance Capital, Lehman Brothers, and the Geography of Racial Capitalism” from 9-10:20 AM HST / 3-4:20 EDT. In person Room 312 (Ni`ihua), Third Floor, as well as streaming!

ALT A description of Joshua Inwood's talk: The text partially reads: "In the spirit of Blaut’s life and legacy, I trace the development of Lehman Brothers from their roots as a dry goods store in Montgomery, Alabama, into a Fortune 500 global financial services company that collapsed in the 2007 financial crisis. I have two purposes. First, I want to reveal the contours of US-style racial capitalism. Second, I want to advance an interrelated argument: the geographic case for reparations."
Common Space, the SCGSG 2024 newsletter, is out now! Check your listserv inboxes for updates on our AAG happenings, including award winners, sponsored sessions, our plenary and our business meeting, and news from our members.
