With America's push for energy independence and the need to reduce reliance on China for lithium refining, Stardust Power is stepping up in a big way. Their lithium refinery in Muskogee, Oklahoma, is set to produce up to 50,000 metric tons per year of battery-grade lithium, a crucial step in strengthening the U.S. supply chain. With permitting secured and major construction due to start later this year,the company is well on its way to reshaping the industry. A non-binding agreement with Sumitomo for 20,000 tons per year, with a possibility to supply up to 25,000 metric tons per annum, which equates to 40% or 50% respectively of their total capacity, underscores the growing demand, and key milestones for project financing are on track. As the demand for lithium continues to surge across EVs, electronics, and defense technology, refining it domestically has become a national security priority.
