This #NationalInclusionWeek2023, we’re unveiling one way we’re changing how we talk about race and ethnicity – by adopting the term ‘global majority’.
Our CEO, @sarahvibert82, explains why language matters when it comes to inclusion👉ncvo.org.uk/news-and-insight…

ALT Global majority definition on purple back ground. Text reads: All ethnic groups except white British and other white groups, including white minorities. Specifically, it refers to people from black, Asian, mixed, and other ethnic groups (including Chinese, Arab, other Asian, and indigenous peoples) who have been previously racialised as ‘ethnic minorities’.

The one thing, more than any other, that I want the UK government to do at the #SDGSummit is to focus on reducing #inequality.
Making progress on that SDG drives progress on all the others.

Final stats out today on UK's 2022 aid spend.
Spending at home on refugees was by far the biggest category:
- 3 x humanitarian spend
- 3x direct spend in Africa.
On Africa, spend⬇️28% (it was⬇️34% in 2021; ⬇️12% in 2020).
So much for countering China and Russia.
