BART is performing rail destressing between Lafayette and Pleasant Hill stations at midnight tonight.
To create a safe work space for our crews, BART will reduce service from two tracks to one while the work is taking place. Riders can anticipate delays of 20-25 minutes.
On Monday, Secretary @XavierBecerra joined Assemblymember @BuffyWicks (D-Oakland), BART Director Barnali Ghosh and BART General Manager Bob Powers for a tour of 70 affordable apartments under construction at the El Cerrito Plaza BART Station.
This is the first in a multi-phase Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) that will ultimately transform approximately 6.5 acres of underutilized BART parking lots into 743 new apartments. xitter.cf/SFBART/status/20706330…
El Cerrito Plaza is one of several major TOD projects that BART is advancing across its system, designed to generate ridership and contribute to the agency’s long-term financial sustainability, strengthen local economies, and provide equitable access to opportunity. xitter.cf/SFBART/status/20706555…
This previously scheduled vegetation management work has been cancelled between San Leandro and Bay Fair stations. ⬇️
We will have regular Sunday service with full Green Line service today.

When the Loma Prieta earthquake hit on Tuesday October 17, 1989, BART was put to the test like never before.
Not only did service resume just a few hours after the quake, BART ran 24-hours a day, seven days a week for about a month while the Bay Bridge was closed.
BART participated in the 2026 International ShakeOut Day earthquake drill earlier today to test our emergency response systems and to help raise public awareness of the importance of having a plan and being prepared.
BART will be running longer trains this weekend during the U.S. 101 Bayshore Freeway closure.
