Hello everyone in the #writingcommmunity, I am revealing the cover design with all the others of my new novel A Tempest in the Sky. We are still in the editing process, so give me a few more months.
The Relational Universe and its Moral Arc (2027) sent to the publisher.
"Dignity in Leonard Harris and in the Personalisms of King, Scheler, and Levinas" sent for inclusion in an anthology.
Busy weekend. #researching #amwriting
So many of my colleagues in classical pragmatism don鈥檛 find questions in metaethics fascinating; my analytic pragmatism friends do.
You're lying down reading and a cat snuggles next to you. You think, great! When you move, the cat puts out her paws, saying I am here. It's the darndest thing. Then gradually, she starts pushing you over and taking up the same spt on the couch. So arrogant and so human.
Notice how these universities prioritize knowledge production and funding them over stupid political culture wars about universities.

I always am impressed by Oregon鈥檚 PhDs in American philosophy. This morning especially. (Vague-posting on purpose; can鈥檛 share).
I鈥檓 loving the new Daggerheart game. I worry, however, if they are too reliant on third party development.
So you know how I said Lulu lies atop papers I鈥檓 editing to get my attention, the same holds true for the laundry I fold. Apparently neatly stacked laundry = cat bed.
I have this thought often, so when I ask can it be this simple I mean simple as in how simple the four noble truths explain suffering. It seems so simple. Whenever we do harm, we do harm to a person by ignoring their personhood.
Sitting at home editing my book, Lulu, my gray cat, decides to sit on the pages I have yet to edit. Now, she discovered this a long time ago, but then she mixes it with constant purring and brushing my hand on the keyboard. "You have stared at screens long enough today. Now me."
When I post about engaging in religious topics thru philosophy, inevitably some internet atheist thinks: Religion is nonsense. You talk about religion. Therefore philosophy of religion and what you鈥檙e doing is nonsense. They won鈥檛 anything you write charitably in philosophy.
When I post ab engaging in religious topics thru philosophy, inevitably some internet theist thinks: Religion is what I believe. You鈥檙e talking ab not what I believe. Therefore philosophy of religion & what you鈥檙e doing is nonsense. They won鈥檛 read anything you write charitably.
Undoubtedly, someone will take Phil's tweet more seriously than intended, so sit back with popcorn and watch the comments.
Arendt observes that in order to talk about metaphysics, we borrow from the poet. We use analogy of visible things to talk about invisible things. I often wonder if metaphysics is just talking figurative language as seriously (or more seriously) as a poet.
I don't know why this guy hates on the new art. If my world was peaceful where people got along, then there'd be no reason to act like the adventurers wandering Krynn looking for battle. Instead, I'd give my life to defend the peace achieved in the 2024 picture below.
TSR D&D in 1984 vs. WOTC D&D in 2024
(Yes the second pic is an actual illustration in the 5.5E Monster Manual of all places.)
