Earlier this month, while investigating wire thefts near the flood wall, District 4 officers located a 50-year-old man who fled when he saw officers. The man was quickly detained and found to be in possession of nearly 3 pounds of methamphetamine.
The man was later arrested and charged with Trafficking and Resisting Arrest.
Thanks to the dedicated men and women of the #SLMPD, St. Louis is safer today with these dangerous drugs off the streets.

Board of Police Commissioners President Chris Saracino issued the following statement regarding @AGCHanaway’s announcement:
“The Board of Police Commissioners will continue to fully cooperate with the Attorney General’s review. This Board is committed to accountability and believes our community deserves confidence in our work to make St. Louis a safer place.”
We appreciate @GovMikeKehoe’s letter and take this matter seriously. The Missouri Attorney General's Office is legally responsible for enforcing Missouri's Sunshine Law—a cornerstone of government transparency that ensures the public’s right to access information about their government.
Our office will conduct a thorough investigation to determine whether any violations occurred. Government belongs to the people, and they deserve public officials who conduct business in the open, not behind closed doors. We will follow the law wherever it leads and uphold the transparency to which Missouri citizens are entitled.
We are excited to announce three #SLMPD officers were honored this week as “Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Officers of the Year” at the annual CIT Appreciation Awards Banquet! The award recognizes the exceptional work of officers who display skill & compassion while handling behavioral or mental health crisis calls. We are proud of Officers Hayes, Hemingway, and Sanford for the work they do! #STL
#SLMPD heard you.
Our goal was to showcase St. Louis and our officers’ work to reduce gun violence. After listening to our community’s concerns, we have decided not to move forward with the proposed docuseries.
We will explore other ways to share this important work while building trust with the people we serve. Your voice matters, and we remain committed to working alongside you to make St. Louis safer for everyone.

Within the last hour, District 6 officers rushed to a shooting in the area of Gilmore and Thekla. A boy, we believe in his early teens, was shot. An unknown vehicle left the area after shots were fired. The teen is stable. Anyone with information should contact @STLRCS.
On Wednesday, the St. Louis Board of Police Commissioners will consider establishing a Police Pre-Recruit position to help the #SLMPD hire and retain qualified candidates before their next Police Academy class begins.
