Are you noticing small dark, ant-like insects?🐜🐜 Those are subterranean termites, which often emerge right after the season's first rains. Termites can be destructive to homes, but not every termite sighting means you have an infestation. More info: smcmvcd.org/termites

This trail looks harmless enough, right? Wrong! The overgrown vegetation is perfect habitat for ticks. If you look close enough you might see one on a tip of the grass. Stay tick safe-Avoid trails with overgrown vegetation, wear repellent & check yourself for ticks.

A mosquito spends a large portion of its lifetime in water, and as adults they need water to lay their eggs. No access to water means no mosquitoes! Inspect your yard for water and drain it at least once a week. #NationalMosquitoWeek
