Absolutely vile. Shawaz Ditta, 31.. has been convicted of raping and violently assaulting a woman and sentenced to 9 years in prison.
And what’s particularly disturbing is that he committed these crimes WHILE serving as an elected Conservative councillor.
‼️ Raped the victim in November 2022.
‼️ Struck her with kitchen tongs, leaving her bleeding.
‼️ Burned her leg with a heated kitchen knife, leaving permanent scarring.
‼️ Convicted of rape and two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
‼️ Sentenced to 9 years in prison and handed a 10 year restraining order.
This man was elected to serve the public while committing horrific crimes behind closed doors.
My heart goes out to the victim. I hope this conviction brings her some sense of justice and peace. 💔

Consent to vaginal sex does not mean consent to anal sex. Consent must be given for each sexual act, and non-consensual anal penetration is rape.

It wasn't an "I said, she said" as this man suggests.
The victim who was 21 years old when her attack happened (which Brand was found guilty of) went back to her home dazed and told her Dad what had happened. Her Dad drove her to a sexual health clinic. Records were kept and other family members were told.
I watched Minnie Stevenson who was in court every day do a summary of proceedings most days.
There were 24 witnesses in court and one victim supplied notes from her therapist.
The reason the women didn't seek justice immediately is the humiliation and not being believed.
They had matured and gained enough strength to face one of the most expensive legal teams available.
Can undercover cop imagine how traumatic one woman speaking up for herself against the highest paid entertainer of his generation?
Those 6 survivors did what was right for them when they felt ready. They deserve respect not judgement.
